I visited this museum with some co-workers and we spent the better part of the day wandering through the exhibits. They had a gut-wrenching exhibit on lynching. It was hard to view but it is a part of our history we can't forget. They also had a really interesting exhibit on the role of African Americans in the history of Detroit, well worth the price of admission. They have a large area with plenty for the kids to do also. The main lobby is really breathtaking and the acoustics are creepy. You can hear a whisper from one end of the room to the other. Visit this museum, you will learn a lot.

FURTHERMORE IT SHOWS AT THE AFRICAN AMERICAN CULTURE. THIS IS AN EXCELLENT PLACE FOR LEARNING. THE STAFF IS FRIENDLY. AND THE PRICES ARE FAIR. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS MUSEUM TO MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY.

The Charles H Wright Museum of African American History is extremely moving. it provides a great picture of the journey of the African American heritage from its first days in the country. It truly was an interesting voyage that is captured very well in the museum. i like to see Detroit offering museums with value and exhibits that provoke though and emotion. Well done, try and check it out.
