I'm not really pleased that you have to ride through a bad area of Detroit to get here but its worth the beauty. When everything is in bloom in the prime of the season the site is so glorious. They keep up the conservatory very well and immaculate. I've had a lot of pictures taken in front of the flowers. Inside is equally as attractive. It's like being in a totally different world. Must take the long bridge over to Belle Isle. At night the fountains at its entrance illuminate with changing colors, another site to behold.

The Belle Isle Conservatory is a hidden gem in this city. It is usually pretty deserted and it is quite romantic if you'd like to stroll through with your sweetie. The flora is lush and exotic, it even smells like you're in another world. The building is historical and I would pay the admission price just to see this building stay on Belle Isle. Take your out-of-town visitors to the island and show them a slice of the grandeur that used to be Detroit. This attraction is well worth the price of admission.
