It is an experience to eat at the Rattlesnake. Excellent food, great filets and seafood. Service has always been outstanding, particularly with John H. as our waiter. Courses are timed perfectly, wines are outstanding. Great place for a special occasion or an occasional splurge. They have special wine dinners occassionally which are wonderful. Can't recommend this place enough.
Pros: Food, service
Cons: None

This is the real taste of "real" mexican food. I am amazed people actually compare this authentic Mexican food with TacoBell or other places that know nothing about real mexican food! There is no comparison! There is a full menu and Margaritas to die for!
But remember, you get what you pay for! If you order a cheap Margerita, you will get a cheap margerita! Try the Cadillac Margerita-Awesume!
The manager by the name of Joyce needs an attitude adjustment and needs to stay away from humans! This women is alway angry and quick to jump down your throat or defensive all the time but don't let her keep you from enjoying great food!
Blue Margerita is not the same owners and NOT the same food! This is a completely different restaurant with completely different food. Sure they are related but clearly you can taste the difference in the food!
Pros: Great Authentic Mexican Food-not TacoBell imitation
Cons: Joyce is alway on the defensive!

So glad we picked this place for Valentine's Day 2009! I researched for 2 days to find a hidden gem and I will recommend Vince's again and again. I called the place to make a reservation and a man with an Italian accent answered the phone (Bonus!). He was really nice and asked where I was coming from so I could avoid the construction on surrounding freeways. It was snowy and this place was cozy and pretty homey. Nice bottle of Bolla wine, salads and fantastic bread! Hubby had the Cannelloni which was the best I have ever had, hands down and I had the Veal Parmesana and the veal was perfect. Super nice waitress offering great suggestions, she asked if we liked green vegetables, which we do, and she brought us this very garlicky, green veggie heaven on a plate. What a great night and we didn't spend a lot of money!!!
Pros: Great Food and Service.
Cons: none

Mexican Town is right off of I75 in Detroit, near Clark and Vernor. I love the food and it has a wonderful bakery called Lunas 2. You can try El Rancho or many other places for dinner and drinks. I always have a great time there. They have live spanish music at several of the restaraunts and lotsof shopping. Try it, you'll love it.

Lots of things about Detroit make me happy to live here: John King Bookstore, The Heidelberg Project, The Conservatory on Belle Isle, The Pistons, Dally in the Alley, The Sphinx Foundation, Eastern Market, The Detroit Institute of Arts.
Another Detroit institution that I celebrate with my patronage as often as possible is Traffic Jam and Snug. How can a place with its own bakery, brewery and dairy be anything but magnificent? Its food is fresh and bountiful (meals begin with homemade bread du jour--often unusual, always delicious); its service is gracious, neither obsequious nor neglectful; its eclecticism is authentic; its location in the heart of midtown is ideal.
Traffic Jam never fails to surprise and delight.

This is a brand new oslo, with new owners keep in mind. The restaurant is spotless and the staff was top notch. We had a spicy tuna roll, a yellowbelly roll a dynamite roll and a tempura shrimp with salmon (the last 2 were so big we had to cut them in half) and 4 pieces of nigiri. The tuna nigiri was the best I have ever had, top quality. The dynamite and tempura rolls were so big they were actually like getting 4 rolls. The sauces were fantastic. The prices were amazing, if you consider the size it was like 6 rolls and 4 pieces of nigiri and the wine was resonably priced as well. Dinner and drinks for 2 for 60$, not bad at all especiaaly considering we ordered premium items. The staff was so kind. The sushi chef actually came from behind his station to check each table and make sure everything was to their liking. You have a new regular in me.
Pros: Fantastic food, impecccable service, resonable prices. The staff actually cares
Cons: Not a thing.

I heard the lady that brought the dog to the Shelter first lied and told the staff that the dog was part of the show. The group's manager performing that night was overheard saying that "lady" was a crazed fan who had been following the band and showing up to shows and offering them illegal medications (wink wink nudge nudge). They had brought the dog up on stage the night before because they thought it was funny.
Is it wrong to bring a dog into a music venue with extremely loud music, intoxicated people, and possible broken glass on the floor? Talk about animal cruelty!
Does everyone feel comfortable around large dogs they do not know? Obviously not by the police reactions to her dog.
Was St. Andrew's denying someone their right to basic human needs? No, this was an entertainment event not a soup kitchen. Was she within her right to come in? Sure, but why subject a dog to that type of environment?
BTW said "lady" was heard yelling she wanted the contact info for her lawyer who she stated was Allen Ginsberg (who died in 1997).
