I am a NCAA member and we had an event at the Roostertail this past tuesday where telling you about it does not even come close to the experience we recieved. From the extrodinary dinner to the top notch dessert of caramel bumpy cake and other little side dishes. The staff was always on top of everything even before a guest even made a request. The wow factor of the place is really what I want to talk about. The owner had detailed the Palm River Room to have a fall accent to having french coffee, which was flaming and was delicious. Shawna and Lisa the sales coordinators were always around to help out and made sure there was less stress on us to have things done in a timely fashion. Roostertail has my vote and I recommend it to all of my colleagues.

I attended a gala dinner here. I hadn't been in the area in some time and was put off by the abandoned homes on the road in. But the building, although not a beauty, had some nice views of the water and the event set up was quite lovely. However, a couple days later nearly everyone who had eaten at the event became extremely ill. The company that had booked the gala at the venue was beside itself with embarrassment because the food poisoning made the local news. Not only were the guests incredibly ill, the company probably lost some credibility because of the Roostertail's inability to prepare food properly. I would not risk it here.

I refer to the Roostertail as the Businessman's lounge only because it is high class and every time I went here for lunch, I was surrounded by white collar workers in ties. It is very fine and for the affluent. When I worked in downtown, a bunch of the women would get together and go for our break there. I would feel important just being among many VIP's. Their dishes exceed expectation. In Detroit, the Roostertail is known for its grand parties for celebrities, such as rock stars. Great place to go to say that you have been there too!
