Of course, it's worth it if you really like the band, but definitely not an ideal place. PROS: CONS: super expensive drinks

We love watching the Red Wings at this arena, when we can get tickets. It is hard to get tickets to the hockey games, but when you go, no matter how high you are, the view is great. The ushers are pretty helpful-when they aren't watching the game. It is clean for such a big venue, and parking is in lots close by, I usually have my husband drop us off while he parks the car.

Joe Louis is a great place to go for a hockey game. Even the highest seat have a good view. They have a good selection of concession stands including a large selection of alcohol to choose from. The main problem with Joe Louis is that it could use some updating. It looks run down when you compare it to other venues in the area such as Comerica Park and Ford Field.

I have been to the Joe Louis Arena twice and I told myself that I would not go there again. Just to get into the arena requires a lesson in mountain climbing. The steps are entirely too narrow. The concert I was there to see did not have the best sound system or acoustics. I don't entirely blame the arena for that , I blame the concert sponsers. It seemed like it was a matter of greed, (to get as many people to see these entertainers regardless of the quality of the music). Tth prices of the tickets were also too expensive. PROS: CONS: The steps are too narrow

I have been to many events at Joe Louis and they are always well organized and pleasant. I've gone to Red Wings games, ice shows, concerts and a circus there. The only thing I don't like is that you have to wait in line for the women's restrooms! They should have double the women's restrooms than the men's! It's a nice place to go for any kind of special event.

Review I have been to two hockey games, a circus and a concert at this arena. The sound system for the concert was not good. The seating in all cases is cramped, and not very comfortable. Quite a few of the seats are obstructed. It is in the heart of downtown- which is a plus for some people and a minus for others. The ticket prices for all the events I attended were pretty average. The staff were not very professional at the hockey games, but were pretty good at the other two things I attended.
