This place is so cool! I was looking for a gift for my dad who is impossible to buy for and I wandered in here. The have so many old maps that you could spend hours just browsing through them all. But don't get me wrong, they are all really well organized and the owner is really knowledgeable if you have any questions. The maps generally aren't cheap but they are one of a kind and my dad loved his!
PROS: cool maps, knowledgeable owner
CONS: pricey but worth it

The Old Map Gallery is the kind of place that's fun to happen across on a trip to downtown Denver. The building is renovated from an old storefront, leaving exposed brick that gives the store character. While it's not a big place, it's got a fantastic selection of maps organized by region, with a section for states and a section for countries and world regions. Many are framed already and add to the decor of the store, and any purchase can be framed in the store. While some seemed a little pricy (to this cheapskate, probably a bargain since most are antiques) it was fun to look around. Memorable maps were the ones directly from 1920s Harper's Bazaar magazines. Staff was also friendly and helpful. They do a lot of business on the web, also.
PROS: Great selection, all-around fun place to look

Looking for an old book or map? This is the place to come and explore. They have some really cool artifcats. The prices are pretty steep but many items are one of a kind.
