This place has really good food. If the Lousianna natives say its good, then ITS GOOD! My boyfriend has been looking for a good "cajun" place to go and we fell in love when we found this place. I had the Jambolaya and it was really good, very flavorful. My boyfriend had the crayfish - which are on special late in the season so look out for that - and he was happier than a kid at christmas. They served it to him on a cafeteria tray because the crayfish were overflowing his plate! They had a really good flavor and were nice and juicy. Our server was nice and it wasn't crowded at all. Everything on the menu looked so good that we had a hard time deciding what we wanted to eat. I can't wait to go back and try something different. If you're looking for good New Orleans food, this place comes highly recommended. Pros: Jambolaya

This place is great! I was born and raised in southern Louisiana and can vouche for the fact that this food is the real deal. My boyfriend and I moved here from New Orleans after Katrina. Our first Bayou Bob's experience was for the one year anniversary of Katrina hitting NOLA... not exactly a reason to celebrate! But we left in a great mood after drinking Abita beer (the only restaurant I've seen that has it) and stuffing ourselves on seafood platters and the best pecan pie a la mode I have ever had (don't tell my grandmother!) I've since taken my family there when visiting and have added the chicken fried steak and hush puppies as my favorite menu items. The food is great and reminds me of many places in Louisiana, from New Orleans, to Lafayette, and way down to Bayou Lafourche. The people that work there are really nice and for Mardi Gras, they had a pseudo parade in the middle of the restaurant. You can't beat that! Who would have thought I'd have found a place like this in downtown Denver? Pros: Seafood platters, pecan pie, Abita beer, friendly service Cons: Boiled crawfish is expensive, but that's to be expected

I came here for lunch on a weekday, and I must say, the service is slow. Don't expect to be in and out and back to your desk within an hour. We even got there early, before the lunch crowd came. The crawfish etouffee was okay, but not nearly as good as at Gumbo's or Pappadeaux. They have good choices in sides however, and for a pretty cheap price you can upgrade your side dish to gumbo or jambalya. The jambalaya was very tasty. Pros: jambalaya Cons: slow service

My wife and I just moved to the Denver area and we usually eat a lot of crawfish this time of year. Multiple coworkers suggested this restaurant. You have to order crawfish in set of 2 lbs (no big deal) but this costs $17! We've eaten a lot of crawfish and this is the most we've ever paid anywhere. Seeing our suprise, the waitress immediately went into a diatribe about how they are not making any money selling them at this price - whatever. The worst part was that the crawfish were awful. They were chewy and gamey - obviously cooked too long. The rub they used was appropriately spicy, but had way too much garlic. Half of our servings were just claws and tail-less bodies. Needless to say, we will not be going back. It's sad that the only decent option in town for crawfish is Pappadeaux. Thank you for sending in your review. Me and my wife went downtown to Bayou Bob's for an evening and had probably one of the best meals I have ever had downtown. Our server walked us through cajun food and set us up with two dinners we could share and try almost everything. I was thoroughly impressed with everthing on the table and would probably be at a lost as to what to order next time. Awesome relaxed atmosphere, cool Louisiana artifacts on the wall, and great Hurricanes. Pros: Everything Cons: not very romantic

I found the Citysearch website and read the reveiws on Bayou Bob's. I decided to give it a go even if a couple of reveiws were unflattering. First it is VERY authentic and the atmosphere made me feel right at home. Best happy hour and my favorite is that it is still run by the family that owns it. You must check it out!!! Pros: Great food, specials, and hospitality Cons: Parking isn't free downtown

They might not be thinking that the service they provide is 'just a job' but sure that is how it is portrayed to the customer. If you call and don't get an answer, try a couple more times, they will pick up the phone. I ordered takeout. May have gotten there a few minutes early for pickup and ready to pay. I was sent back and forth like a ping pong ball between the hostess to the bar to pay for the takeout. Hostess gave me the food but I had not paid yet. Nothing might stop you from walking out with the food without paying. $15 for the shrimp dinner, bring it back to the office to find out there is no ketchup for fries, no tarter sauce, and no coctail sauce. The service all around is very poor for a simple takeout. They keep me coming back for that seafood craving, but the service keeps me away except for 1 or 2 times per year. Pros: Take out shrimp would be highly recommended if they don't forget the sauces Cons: Service is a hastle

I have been to Bayou Bob's for lunch many times and have always had a good meal, although the service can be slow. My favorite dishes are the seafood pasta and the catfish po-boy. Many from my office like the petite combeaux plate. The atmosphere is nothing special, but it's fine, and I always look forward to going back. Pros: good food, pleasant atmosphere Cons: slow service
