My late son introduced La Cocinita to Mom and me. Mom always called it "Dora's" because she always worked at their restaurant, serving us, so it's who she always associated it with. Jéan T'Lemeter selected one-of type businesses to frequent, and was familiar with many in the Denver area. Staff is small, but polite and always accommodating to customers. I can't say we've ever had the long-wait experience mentioned by Maureen S., but it does provide an atmosphere conducive to relaxing and savoring a meal there, rather than rushing through on the way to somewhere else. Delicioso muy-much!!

I'd boost this rating form "good" to "great" if the service was better. It's a tiny little place, but the food is very flavorful. They have outdoor seating in the warmer months, fenced in to block out the bulk of traffic noise fROm 29th Ave. Their chips are crisp and their salsa spicy. All of their entrées are yummy. The problem is that it takes forever to get waited on and forever PLUS to get your food order. I'm not sure why, but it happens every time I go there. The staff are always very pleasant--they are just slower than molasses. IF you want affordable Mexican and you're not in a hurry, check this place out.
