Sushi Den is another of your busy Denver sushi restaurants. Due to the long wait, I’ve only had their food as carry out. The food was definitely good, and as such deserves a recommendation. However, from what I saw of it the restaurant gets quite crowded in the evenings, and seems upscale, possible to the point of being pretentious. The food at Sushi Den is definitely worth trying, but unless you’re prepared to wait for a while, I suggest carry out!

Sushi Den has a reputation for being the place to be seen in Denver. It is located in the Platt Park neighborhood in central Denver. They do have valet parking which is a plus for those people who can’t seem to walk a block or two. The prices are not that bad. It has a reputation for being pricy but I think that is because people go there for celebrations and drink bottle after bottle of expensive wine. A California roll costs $5.95 and it is an 8 piece roll which tastes wonderful. It goes up in cost from there but not by much. Out of all the sushi restaurants in Denver, this one has the best rice on the sushi pieces and rolls. It just doesn’t break up in your soy sauce when you are dipping your food before taking a bite. The rice alone makes it a better place. That and the fact that the fish is flown in on a daily basis so you are always eating the freshest fish that can possibly get to a landlocked state. There is a wait, there is always a wait, even on a week night. That is just part of the deal. Put your name in and walk down the street to Pearl Street Grill for some drinks before your table is ready.
