I LOVE Nine75~ Thanks to the new ownership for coming in and saving such a fantastic place. Parking is easy, the crowds are hip and fun, and the menu is very creative and delicious! (I recommend the surf and turf sushi roll) It's the perfect place to go after hitting up a downtown happy hour. I must say that last nights trip to Nine75 has made me a big fan. From the clean and stylish ladies rooms, to the throw back music, the decently priced wine selection, and of course our wonderful server...Jay "PIMP". (I told you I'd put you in this write up!) GO TO NINE75...It's fantastic!
Pros: great bathrooms, unique menu items, atmosphere and crowd, great service
Cons: none this time around!

My friends and I had the best experience ever at a restaurant over the weekend. We were looking for good sushi, but we found not only that but servers that sincerely cared about us having a good time. Our server was very attentive and knowledgable and we never had to wait or wonder when our drinks or food would arrive. It was just a enjoyable experience all around and I would recommend it to friends visiting the area.
Pros: service, food, atmosphere
Cons: busy

My friend and I were visiting Denver this past weekend and the concierge at our hotel recommened this wonderful restaurant. Chef Jennifer Jasinski is fabulous. We are from Houston and we thought we had good food in Houston, but nothing compares to the experience we had at Rioja. We had lunch there on Friday and we were back for Brunch on Sunday. Our waitress Shannon Austin was wonderful and really took care of us. Will we be back?? You bet!! We will fly to Denver just to eat at Rioja!!! Also, check out their other place Bistro Vendome...we ate there on Saturday for brunch. Both places created the best dining experience we have ever had.
Pros: Service, Food, Atmosphere
Cons: Non

A church fitted for a night out. Well done. The decor is wonderful and they do try to accommodate all desires. The basement club needs work but has a great Industrial/EBM night. Lines to the bar are long. The place is expensive so know to expect that.
Pros: Good Sites, Good Sounds
Cons: Parking, Expensive

I first went to Elway's a few years ago when it first opened. I remember the scene very well - very "see and be seen" with our favorite Cherry Creek cougars getting sloshed on $15 martinis at the over-polished bar. I can't say I cared for it. The entrees were slightly above-average with unnecessarily large portions and the side items cost a fortune. It all lead up to an annoyingly pretentious experience. I tried again about 3 weeks after this experience and had the same result - so I decided to write Elway's off my list. I'm glad a friend talked me into going back - this time for Brunch. We're some of those people who "brunch" nearly every weekend. We try new places each time - and have a few favorite standbys (Le Central for $2 mimosa Saturdays - Vita for their fab french toast - Lucile's for the beignets). This particular week, we were doing some shopping and decided to go to Elway?s. It was pouring, and the valet was extremely attentive, and even managed to keep my shoes dry. The brunch entrees were extremely reasonable in price - and the portions were perfect (if not a little big!) When I say reasonable - I mean $7 for a full meal. Yes...$7. Some entrees also include crab or steak (worth it!) for a reasonable $15-20. No crazy side item upcharges, just great food in a quiet atmosphere (the cougars were asleep, I surmised).
So go there for brunch - and if you're penny pinching - skip the still-pricey mimosas and try the gourmet coffee.
Pros: Affordable brunch!
Cons: If you stay past 3pm...watch out for the bar crowd.

I have been to the Wash Park Grill quite a few times and I have always enjoyed it! I like that I can come to this place for all occaissions... a quick bite for lunch (great sandwiches), awesome happy hour (7 days/week, from 3pm to 7pm!), or even a nice romantic date. The servers are typically very friendly and attentive making great recommendations on food and wine. I do enjoy the proximity to Wash Park.... I can take my dog to the park and then walk over to grab a drink or a meal... they even have a doggy menu! It is a great neighbor style restuarant with good people.
Pros: Happy hour, hearty food portions, great brunch

I am reading reviews on this because I am in the service industry and like to know what really gets people.I like to keep up with my favorite places and I constantly maintain and improve my own service by finding out what works and what doesn't. I look for likes and dislikes and constantly make a point to do all that I can to make people's experiences amazing, You know it's good to give them something to come back to.
I have to say, that it's individuals that blow things out of proportion that make it difficult to get a fair assessment. This place runs the way it does and it is successful and usually pretty busy. If you go to a friends house, are you going to complain about their dining room and the music? Doubtful. I kinda see it as going out to enjoy yourself. They offer what they offer and if you don't like the offerings, maybe you shouldn't be there in the first place. If you are that interested in the specials, grow a set and ASK. yeah it's their job to inform, but it's also your responsibility to say what you want. In my job, I like to get a feel for what people want. Which is why I ask. Some people however come across as so unapproachable that you just want to get their order and leave them be! I personally love the guests who come in and order, but then change it all up so that they in fact are getting nothing remotely close to the initial chef's conception.
Does anyone ever take into account that some things don't come easy? I personally am a loyal patron at a few places and I can say that like every other establishment, they have their bad moments. But take into account that those moments usually occur when it becomes suddenly busy, or a guest is so high maintenance that it can literally detract from a server being attentive to their other guests. Granted, rude is never the way to handle this, but sometimes you just wanna snap when you are treated so crappy by individuals with such high and unrealistic standards who have probably never worked a day in their life in an actual busy restaurant. It is absolutely the server/ bar/ and overall staff's job to maintain professional, consistent, and service worth coming back to. But trust me that there are the rare handfuls of guests that most would never want to have to wait on again. So remember that when you come into a place and get "crappy" service, is it really all the service? Or did you have something to lend? And reeeeeeeally??? Making assumptions about a place and how it "thinks" in order to vent really gets you nowhere....
Pros: Amazing staff, fabulous food, Love it!
Cons: Can be a bit hard to get a table on weekends.

I grew up in Denver and have always ventured to this restaurant whenever I have the chance. I'm a NY Diner so I think it says a lot. The variety of food here is wide and I adore the restaurant's decor. The drinks are also very good and I love the central bar. I've always had great service here. It's also nice that they have a parking lot. I'm in love.
