I'm a big fan of this place. My girlfriend absolutely goes nuts for their rolls and cinnamon butter (they remind me of Dunkin Donuts munchkins!), and they are decent. The prime rib is excellent, but I can't stop getting the 14oz Legendary Filet, which has a light seared crust on it, and is seasoned with their house seasoning. I would recommend this for people who like food on the salty side, as some do complain how salty it can be. The meat is flavorful and tender. They have a coffee cured filet that is great too. They also have crab cakes that people like. I can honestly say I've never really had a bad experience here and I try to go at least six to nine times a year. I'm going more and more these days. The service is usually good to great. The room is wonderful, I believe it is almost entirely big comfy leather booths. There is a big fireplace as well that is great in the cold season. I love to sit at the table(s) near it for that extra ambiance. Since my girlfriend and I are late eaters, we never have to wait for a table, and usually can get the pick of room. No loud kids and families after 8 or 9PM. That's my time! In a city that's bursting with steakhouses, including many famous ones, it's nice to have one very close to where I live that is excellent and has it's own taste. As far as I know, Stoney River does not serve prime beef. They called it premium midwestern beef. I call that fancy talk for "we don't have prime here." That's ok Stoney River - you still won me over!
Pros: Steaks, Service, Booths, Overall room, Location, Parking, Rolls
Cons: None that I can really think of!

Ironically we have lived in the area of this restaurant for years, driven past it I can't tell you how many times and never went in. We got a gift certificate for Christmas and tried it out, the food was very good. One of the things I thought was interesting was that you could get a 'crusted' steak, they put different ingredients on but the one that stood out was a parmasan cheese that was excellent and very different!

My wife and i come all the time and have tried almost everything on the menu, and there wasn't one entree that i was not happy with. Portions are quite generous you will either leave full or taking food home. Service is outstanding waiters are trained very well and do a great job of checking up on you every now and then, even before my drink is empty a full glass is already placed without me having to ask.

Dear Franks is great for a quick lunch or dinner. Great hot dogs and fries, and I've heard the burgers are good too. Greasy, but much better than Mcdonalds and other similar places. The guys that work there are great; it's been the same people for years, and they get to know you. They also have a great ice cream shop connected to the restaurant.

The have very nice electronics, phones and digital cameras i like apart from all the other stuff they have. They even have huge collections of DVDs on their racks. After christmas sale could be one of the time to buy in some good stuff at a little lesser price compared to the regular prices.

Carson's has been a mainstay in Deerfield for a long time. I have dined there several times and each time I have enjoyed my meal and the service is always good. My only complaint is the restaurant itself could use updating. The inside is a bit tired and drab. So not where I would take your date to impress with the atmosphere.

Well, I must say, I'm probably biased, considering I grew up with Dear Frank's. They have the best cheese fries ANYWHERE, and I have lived in several cities since leaving Deerfield after high school. I also must say, their service is wonderful and friendly, it's a great family owned place, and they've recently had the good fortune to expand to Glenview and Niles, both locations have stayed true to the great tastes and atmospheres I've always known. Plus, the Deerfield location also has expanded to include a 50's style ice cream parlor, which is a great place for kids to hang out and stay out of trouble. I would highly recommend anything on their menu, but my favorites are their hot dogs, their "Super Chicken" and their gyros sandwiches which are busting out of the pita! Of course, you gotta have the cheese fries with whatever you order, they're the only place I know of that uses REAL cheese, and not that generic orange sauce out of a can.
Pros: Great food, great service, great atmosphere
Cons: Prices have gone up a LOT over the past few years, probably due to location

This is the best place in the suburbs to get a dragon roll or unagi. Their service is good as is their menu and I haven't yet ordered anything that I didn't like. Finish off the meal with green tea ice cream and you have the perfect dinner. The atmosphere is nice and roomy, too.

Deerfield Bakery is by far the best of class - I love stopping by on a Sunday morning for a donut (or two) when I'm out on my morning walk. The cakes are outstanding as well, in fact I have never had a bad experience at Deerfield Bakery in the 10 years I've lived in the area.
