Service is always top notch and staff is very professional. I read a previous post stating that Royal hasn't sold Subaru cars in years. The dealership stopped selling cars at the end of '07 early '08. I'm not sure where he got his info. I purchased my SUV from Royal in May '07 and have been happy ever since.

This place stopped selling new Subaru cars earlier this year. The owner explained to me that It was strictly a business decision based on the economy and the market in that area. The repair service is the same as it's always been, with Subaru certified repairmen. The service is superior to many other places I've visited and the prices are in line with the quality of service.

For a recent repair, I was told that all new Subaru parts would be used. It was easy to see that at least one of the parts was just a repaint of my old one (paint was still drying), or another used power steering pump reservoir although I paid for a new assembly (pump and reservoir).
I also doubt their diagnosing techniques. It seemed to me that they just kept replacing parts without properly determining the root cause of the issue first. It's possible, but hard to believe, that a recently replaced (less than 25k miles) water pump and timing belt needed to be replaced again, and that they didn't diagnose the power steering pump noise until after the water pump and timing belt were replaced.
I paid dealer prices for what I thought would be Subaru parts and service. As this place is no longer a Subaru/Isuzu dealer, I might as well go to an actual Subaru dealer for work. I don't recommend this place, and won't bring my car back for anything in the future.

The service manager at this shop says they used all new Subaru parts on my car for a recent repair. It isn't possible to tell if the water pump is a new part, but I can see that the power steering reservoir is just a repaint of either my old one or another used one. I was told that the whole assembly (pump and reservoir) were new Subaru parts - the reservoir is not, and I have my doubts about whether the pump was even replaced.
I also wasn't impressed with how the service manager likes to imply that any other mechanic who worked on my vehicle wasn't qualified. Running down others without any knowledge of their experience and training is a red flag to me that something isn't right.
The prices for parts that this shop charges are as high, or higher, than an active dealer (Royal hasn't been a Subaru dealer for years), so if you're going to pay dealer prices, then you might as well go to a Subaru dealer. I won't be going back to this place again.
