When my daughter suffered a bruise in her lower back after an auto accident, I was told to take her to the ER by the officer, so better safe than sorry. They kept her for an hour...

The Area's Leader 9/10/2005

I've had the good fortune never to be a patient at MVH (knock on wood), but as a local EMT, I've gained a good sense of which hospitals I would and would not go to. Miami Valley claims to be the regions leader and they are absolutely right. They have the most advanced care and knowledgeable staff around. For top notch medical care, this is the place to go. The only downside? They are the best, and they know it. Therefore, they aren't quite as customer-oriented as some of the other hospitals in the area, in my opinion. But what's more important to you: getting the best care or the best customer service? more

Their ER leaves a lot to be desired 8/22/2005

I've been to Miami Valley many times, visiting family, etc. A few months ago, I had to take my Mom to the ER because her dog ripped her hand open, tearing a vein out of her hand. We sat in the ER for 9 hours before she even got in to see a DR. There is simply no excuse for this. She was in a lot of pain and bleeding and they still didn't take her back. more

A great Hospital 8/21/2005

I have gone to this hospital on many occasions. I have visited friends and family while they have been patients. This is the largest hospital in the area and is known as “The Region’s Leader”. They have a beautiful new trauma center. The birthing center also has nice rooms. I have also gone to doctor’s appointments at the hospital. I highly recommend this hospital. more

Miami Valley Emergency Room 8/17/2005

Certainly this isn't the kind of place that I wish people would visit, but when it comes down to it, there is no other emergency room in Dayton I'd rather go. I've been here myself a couple of times for minor things like stitches, but I really saw how good they were when my father had to be taken here (and then ended up with a pacemaker). It was a very scary time for me and my family, and they treated us very well, and, more importantly, gave my dad the top-notch care he deserved. I wouldn't want him (or anyone else I love) to go anywhere else. more
