We had been told by another garage we needed a transmission rebuild, but they couldn't be sure until they had removed the old unit and torn it down (for $650 labor). They said the rebuild would be 1700-2300 dollars. They told us if we couldn't afford it at that point, they would put the parts in the trunk and we could have it towed. I took a chance, and called AAA Transmissions of America, in Danville, VA. The owner seemed to know what he was talking about, and told us the towing was free from Martinsville to Danville. He also said usually it was 1300-1500 dollars to rebuild a transmission. I was overjoyed! What a savings over the 1700-2300 quoted in Martinsville! We had it towed, and he took myself and my wife's phone numbers. He called us both, and on conference call, said it needed to be rebuilt, and it would be 1465.00. He asked us to come to the shop to see what he was talking about. Once we got there, he took us into the back, where our transmission layed in about a hundred parts spread out on a table. He showed us a bunch of parts, claimed they were bad, and then informed us the rebuild would be $2,200.00! We were stuck. The transmission was ruined from the teardown. We allowed him to rebuild the unit. I drove it back to Martinsville, and it seemed to be ok. When I got up the next morning to take it to work, I noticed a HUGE pool of transmission fluid in the driveway. I limped it back to this guy, and he tried to make it sound like he did me a favor by fixing the leak (it was a transmission coolant line!) for no charge. He tried to tell me it was a non-warranty repair! Bottom line...this guy seems to be a religious, caring garage owner. Truth is...he's no different than a common thief. He suckers folks in under the ruse that he has cheap prices, then once he gets his hands on your vehicle...it's over. As far as the religious act goes...that will be settled at a

If you want a wide selection of various foods, home cooked, and a great atmosphere, this should be your first stop! The food is home cooked, hot and fresh. Perfect selection of home style foods, not just a burger and fries. Also have a nice healthy selection for those watching their intake. Service is fast and friendly, but the seating is a downfall. The restuarant is large in size, but the number of patrons who frequent the facility overwhelm the amount of seating available. It's self-serve as far as the beverages go. Everything else is served for you in large quantities. You definately get your money's worth.

I love this restaurant! There is another near by in Chatham too. I had been going to this restaurant for years and the pizza is very good! Also the Dinners are authentic and filling! The Lunch Menu's are extremely affordable! Especially if you are dinning for two. Management is very kind! Always a smile on the staff's faces! I highly recommend it! especially if you have a budget! Good authentic food for a reasonable price!

I just love this Business, it has great food and great people working there.
The Day manager, Ron Reese always makes you feel like you are part of the family, and will make your pizza to order, . He brought out pizza to the table and it was great.
The evening manager,Ken Ingraham also makes you feel right at home, and made sure that out dinner there was great.
The deserts ,which were brownies, an apple cinnamon pizza, and cinnamon rolls were fresh and very tasty, all in all a great inexpensive family restaurant.....This time the music was quiet and not so much, eat to the beat type, but cheerful. A good dinning experience, and a far cry better. and less expensive then any fast food hamburger place.......Thumbs up...folks.

My entire family of 10 plus extended family all use Dr. Payne and have never had a bad experience. We’ve had regular fillings, root canals, bridges, etc. Definitely some pain w/the last, but the dentist did it correctly. We’re always treated very nicely and seen pretty quickly upon coming in. I only once had a really, really rough oral hygenist, but every other experience was great.

Gaslight Grill has all the ambiance and elegance of a New York City restaurant – but in Danville! The menu is stunning and the food excellently prepared by the chefs from New York! All the dishes we got were superbly seasoned with mouthwatering side dishes. The desserts are not to be missed. They do close at 10 on weeknights, so be aware. But it’s an awesome choice for a really, really nice dinner out!
