The service is very friendly even though it is very busy. Hint: get there before 6pm during the week. The salad bar is fresh and varied. The steaks are cooked to perfection the way you want it. The steaks are of good quality and you get a good portion. The mixed drinks are good and people stay after their meal and socialize over drinks. The steak house is located off of I84 and is a must stop on your way to New York or upsate Connecticut. The meals are priced a little high but "you get what you pay for".Once you eat here, you'll be a regular customer.
Pros: Great steak done right, no matter the cut of meat.
Cons: Nearby hotel patrons frequent here making it very busy.

Have eaten at this restaurant three times, and had a bad experience each time. Most notably, a table of five of us all ordered good steaks. The others' steaks were passable, but mine was a small ugly, grizzled piece with very visible gristle and fat. As the server placed them in front of us, I politely said that mine looked inferior. His response was, "Well, somebody's got to get that piece!" Why? Is somebody paying less for their meal? They were out of shrimp on the salad bar, and on the other two occasions, the shrimp looked mediocre anyway. The rest of the salad bar selections are cheap. And what's up with having to pay a couple of bucks extra for a potato with your meal? Isn't a "starch" part of the meal?
When I drive past this place and see the cars parked outside, I shake my head, and think these people must be jerks who'll accept anything served to them -- hence the name, "Chuck's Jerk House".

This is my husband's favorite CT restaurant. We go here for all big occassions Christmas, Birthdays and Anniversaries. I have never been disappointed with the food or the service. There's something for everyone on the menu. The large salad bar serves a variety of fresh lettuces and toppings. They also have a nice wine list with varied and reasonable choices. It's family friendly early in the evening and more adult friendly as the night goes on. The bar is always crowded so it's best to have a reservation rather than have to wait at the bar unitl a table opens.
PROS: Good Steaks.. Nice Salad Bar

I don't know if this restaurant has changed since my last experience there a few years ago. I went with my friends and all of us were disappointed with our meals. My friend even had a BUG in her soup!!! I'm serious. It was the most disgusting. Since that experience we have called Chuck's Yuck's..... I would never go back here. The service was rude to boot- they must have thought we were kidding around, but they didn't even try to replace my friend's meal or offer anything complimentary.

This is my favorite steakhouse in the area. I go here for any kind of special occasion, or when I’m in the mood for steak, which is very often. I love that there’s a fully stocked salad bar. The steaks here are great! My medium rare here is actually medium rare, unlike other places where they tend to make it more of a medium.

I love steak and the best place to get steak in Danbury is by far Chuck's Steak House. Each meal is included with a salad which you can create yourself at the salad bar. The greens are always fresh and refilled constantly. I usually order filet mignon cooked medium. I'm not sure if it's policy or because I am a woman, but the waiter/waitress always includes a little warning about how the meat will be pink inside but is fully cooked none-the-less. Oh well. It's delicious anyway.
