My son and his family recently relocated to Danbury CT. It was recommended by one of my son?s co-workers that we stay at the Ethan Allen Hotel. The moment you walk into the Hotel you just know you are going to have a wonderful stay. I personally loved that they decorated with Ethan Allen furniture, which made the whole place, lobby and room, feel like home. The staff was so friendly and always greeted us. Our room was lovely and quite large with its own living area. It was so nice having a pull-out sofa bed so that our grandson could stay with us. My only negative comment would be that the television in the living area could be updated. My husband is a train enthusiast, and was delighted to learn that the Danbury Train Museum was only 10 minutes way. After a busy day at the museum with our grandson, we returned to the hotel so that the entire family could relax in the outdoor gazebo and pool area. This special trip was topped off by a visit to the Ivy Room for Sunday Brunch. The restaurant has a solarium, which I found to be very pleasant. Of course, my grandson?s favorite thing was the Belgian Waffle Station We were so very happy with our stay, and look forward to returning to the Ethan Allen Hotel soon!

I have been staying in a few Danbury hotels lately because my business with GE Capital has increased. I tried a few of the chains and then heard about The Ethan Allen Hotel in Danbury from some people at GE. I decided to try it. What a lovely surprise and delight the Ethan Allen Hotel is. I am usually a chain gal since it is easy and you normally know what you are getting, but I think I?ll start trying more independent hotels after this experience. Perhaps it was the comfy Ethan Allen furniture spread all over the place making the hotel feel like a cozy home. The feeling was warm, not industrial, like you sometimes get in a hotel. The homelike feeling made coming in at night inviting and I have to say the staff at the front desk was just as welcoming. I love it when they greet you with a hello and make eye contact. It was like they remembered me each day. What else did I like? The high speed internet in the rooms and the snack bar open 24 hours. Sometimes I don?t like the fuss of room service and a big dinner, so I can go down there and get a few yogurts and healthy snacks and cuddle up for the night getting work done. And for breakfast, I love the bright solarium in the restaurant. It makes a great start to the day. I am so glad I found The Ethan Allen Hotel in Danbury. They have one strong convert! Pros: Homey atmosphere with Ethan Allen furniture and cozy ambiance Cons: Would like more extensive health club

I was a guest for a wedding and found all the staff to be helpful. From the moment I checked in at the front desk, even to the servers at the reception. I forgot to mention that I could not eat one of the items served for dinner and a new meal was happily bought out to me. My stay was comfortable and relaxing and the breakfast brunch was great too! I would go back again if I ever need to stay in the area. Also my dog was allowed to stay for only $15. There are not too many pet friendly hotels.

Held my wedding here. The booking staff is young, somewhat unorganized and unprofessional. I'm guessing this is a training ground for the staff and they go on to bigger and better things. They overbooked the banquet rooms on the weekend I was married and did not deliver guest rooms and picture gardens as promised. Chaos reigned as guests from three Sweet 16 parties roamed the halls. The actual catering/service staff was wonderful. They showed such enthusiasm for my guests and were treated in A-1 style. The food was very good and served with a flair. PROS: Nice Service Staff...Nice Atmosphere, Good Food CONS: Young, Unprofessional Booking Staff...Too Many Parties At Once
