This is a great restaurant! We eat here often and the food is always delicious. The menu changes with healthy choices or items in rich yummy sauces. I always enjoy the house salad (don't forget the feta) and then a tasty meal. When ever we are disappointed elsewhere I always say...we should have gone to Sesame!

our 1st visit to sesame seed and we really liked it. the baba-ganoush and hummous appetiser combo was delicious.
the menu had a wide variety of dishes, i hear the menu changes frequently and we had no problem finding many enticing entrees. the dressing on the house salad is crazy! my husband enjoyed his sesame mahi which came with brown rice and string beans. i ordered raviloi stuffed with veggies and covered with sweet potato sauce with steamed veggies and it was good, except a little heavy on the sauce. but the restaurant is laid-back and cozy, even though it was very busy and packed you felt comfortable and able to carry on a conversation. entrees ranged in the mid-teen$. we're glad we tried it!
PROS: price, variety, friendly service, relaxed atmosphere

I love the hummus here and that is why I keep returning. The decor is weird--it looks like your grandmother's attic. Maybe that is the idea? I read an article in the local paper that multiple health code violations have been found here and I wouldn't be surprised because it is probably about as dusty as your grandmother's attic too. But that doesn't seem to stop people from eating here--it is packed for lunch every day.

As someone already pointed out, their Sesame Seed Salad is amazing; light, zesty lemon dressing (that they refuse to give me the recipe for...c'est la vie) and great array of nutritious sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, feta cheese, tomatoes, etc., etc. In addition, I think I could drink their hummus. It is absolutely the best I have ever had. Their dinners are great and offer a lot of meatless options; everything from soups to appetizers to entrees. The waitstaff seems a bit lackadaisical, but they're friendly enough, and the prices couldn't be more reasonable. The restaurant itself is a building that looks like it should be torn down, but somehow it just adds to the laissez-faire embiance. Plus, it's just plain cool that they have an original Mr. Wizard science kit up on one of the shelves.
PROS: Great food (yay for hummus!), very reasonable prices, vegetarian selections
CONS: Building code violations. Quite a few of 'em.

Sesame Seed is one of the best restaurants around! They offer amazing middle eastern food, their falafel and tabouli are the best in Danbury! The menu rotates on a nightly basis. Vegetarian selections are delicious. The electic decor is awesomely kitschy, full of odds and ends. I like to play 'eye-spy' while waiting for my food. The waitstaff is friendly and funky, with tons of personality. The Sesame Seed Salad is wonderful, the light lemony dressing is amazing. I can't say enough about this awesome little place!
