Micro Center is the "candy store" for lovers of Consumer Electronics. Located right at the foundation of the Richardson technology pocket it is a store that stands as an active convenience for the surrounding technology corporations and small businesses. The product sales associates are friendly.
Now the store is quite large. It is not overly sized to the point where you get confused as to what is where. They have an in-house service center for computers and other Consumer Electronics. In the technology retail landscape, one major advantage you can look for at Microcenter is their immense knowledge of "emerging technologies". This is because of their neck-to-neck proximity to global chip maker Texas Instruments.
In summary, Micro Center is a Consumer Electronics store. Their strong advantages are the availability and knowledge of the newest and emerging technologies. Their retail categories include Computers (including Macintosh), Peripherals, Digital Imaging, , Hardware, Computer Accessories, Supplies, Software, Movies & Games, Books, Others. They are very strong on rebates. Not certain if their salesmen work on commission. To really get the information on new technologies such as HDTV and emerging technologies such as the Organic LED (totally ballistic baby). I recommend Micro Center at the highest rating because they live HDTV and Organic LED.
