I totally enjoyed my haircut done by Melissa. To be honest, I have been looking for someone who can cut my hair as good as my hairstylist in NY. Now, I don't have to look any further. Melissa is the one!!! She takes her time with your haircut and she makes sure you are comfortable and relaxed. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and made me feel "at home" while getting my hair done. You won't be disappointed!!
Pros: Michelle is extremely personable!
Cons: There are no drawbacks!!!!

I am young guy living downtown that loves to shop. I stumbled into Crimson in the City recently and now I buy most of my clothes there. They have very chic, trendy, and unique clothes for men. The 7 Diamonds and 191 shirts are my absolute favorite. And they've recently started carrying Joe's jeans too (as worn on american idol). It's my new favorite store! Not to mention the staff is so friendly and knowledgeable.
Thumbs up for Crimson in the City!!

If you are looking for a unique gift, this is the place to go! They have a cool selection of furniture from around the world, tons of great lamps, scrumptious hand poured candles, gorgeous vintage Chanel jewelry and countless other great finds...and then I went upstairs and found a quaint new boutique called New Harmony--they sell all sorts of eco friendly goods- comfy yoga clothes dyed with plants (very attractive colors), natural body sprays, and all sorts of charming recycled stuff. The courtyard behind the shop is a great place for parties too, my friends threw me a baby shower there, such a relaxing place in the middle of the big city. Bottom line, if you want something unique, this IS the place to go AND you can support local small businesses!
Pros: great variety, great house, great courtyard, GREAT STORE!

When I go shopping, I look for value for my dollar, not something cheap, but a quality item at a better than usually found price. That's why you are likely to find me shopping at The Jewel Box. This family owned store has distinguished itself for finding special items, frequently at below market prices.. A broad selection of interesting, quality items at tempting prices are a combination that can't be beat in my book. By the way, be sure to take your husband (or wife, for that matter). The store's layout means you have to go by the jewelry and watch counters on the way in and then, of course, on the way out. The stage is set for that subtle (or not) longing gaze at that much-longed for item. The rest is up to you.

I found Cynthia on citysearch as well and decided to give it a try. I am very picky with my hair color. Cynthia did a great job of blending high lights and low lights to make my hair look a natural dirty blonde (I have naturally brown hair). I am very satisfied with the outcome and felt the price was fair. She also offers a two week time frame where you can come in and she will fix anything you don't like for free. I will definitely continue going here!

The Watchamacallit staff went out of their way to find the perfect dress for me. They werent concerned about prices on the dresses they pulled for me, infact the less expensive one is the one I bought because they said it looked the best, They bent over backwards trying to help me find the perfect dress and I am so pleased with my purchase. I will definately be back!!!!! Thank you!!!

I had heard about this place, but had never been. Before I went, I checked the reviews and maybe 'Senzanome' was there on a down day, because the bags were EVERYWHERE (although very nicely displayed) when I went. Almost too many choice bags to make a frugal decision. I left with just my two favorite for Fall, but will definitely be back for the Spring collection. Great place to buy good quality gifts for fashion-conscious friends, too. My best friend is a bag hound, and even she was impressed with my finds.
The staff was very knowledgable about the products.
Pros: Nice salesgirl, knows her bags! Convenient in-and-out
Cons: Not the best neighborhood, but you'd never know from inside
