We always go to Royal Thai for our Thai food craving. The place as always is pretty crowded but 10-15 mins is the longest we have to wait. The service is good, the servers wear the traditional Thai gowns and they're friendly. For appetizers, we always get the Corn Patties or the golden sack ( fried curry puff ), for the entrees, we recommend the Tiger Tears ( skirt steak) with papaya salad and sticky rice, or the duck curry. The sweet sticky rice with coconut or mango is also good for our dessert. well, keep it up Royal Thai, we always come back for more
Pros: Good ambiance, good service, excellent food
Cons: Too crowded sometimes

We had a group of 7 visit this restaurant. First of all the restaurant was empty and they refused to sit our party because one member had not shown up yet. I mean come on if the restaurant was empty I would understand but they had the table ready for us and just wouldn't sit us down. I guess finally they realized how ridiculous it was that they sat us down after waiting forever. I don't know if the waitress was in a bad mood or something but she never once smiled or said anything. Even when she was taking our orders she would sigh and seemed mad. When our orders came out our group was praying and she just started to put the food down and knocked over 2 peoples silverware on the floor and almost their water. She never once apologized and she ruined our group prayer before the meal. Then during the meal she not once came and asked how we were doing or refilled our drinks. We ONLY saw her 3 times total once to take the orders, once to bring the food out and then to bring our checks. Never once did she say a word. The food was also not good at all. Very greasy basil noodles, very very sweet pad thai, and the massaman curry was very flavorless. I can't believe this place still is in business. I really really can't believe people think this is the "best thai place" because it should be labeled "WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THAI FOOD IN DALLAS."
Pros: nice ambience
Cons: bad food, bad customer service

Royal Thai deserves its reputation as the best Thai restaurant in Dallas. Its menu ranges way beyond the standard Thai eatery in Dallas, offering tasty, authentic Thai flavors with beautiful exotic Thai traditional decor and friendly wait staff. My family, friends and I used to have our every dinner parties there all the time. We really enjoyed the great food and atmosphere in the restaurant. I also recommended to everyone I knew and they fell in love with Royal Thai as well. Since I moved to New York City 2 years ago, I miss Royal Thai a lot. I have been to so many good Thai restaurants in NYC, but not yet found my Royal Thai. And every time I went back to Dallas, I've never missed my chance to visit because I owe myself to this humble, beautiful restaurant. If you love Thai food, this is the place to go. If you've never had Thai food, this is the place to go. Trust me, you will never be disappointed!!
Pros: great food, beautiful decor and affordable prices
Cons: I wish they had a franchise in New York City

As much as it pains me to say this, I am very ashamed to have been a witness to some of the worse Pad Thai ever tasted in my life...MaMaiDak. I understand that most who eat Thai food in the western world are not of Thai descent and may not be able to distinguish between authentic and western style Thai cooking. Bless you all who claim that you know better. To give some credence to this over sweetened dish that did not include bean sprouts nor even a slice of lime, I will assume that the cook is knowingly serving this greasy meal according to the wishes of management. Shame on you, manager. The other thing that needs to be mentioned is the fact that my server, who is considered by most to be very pleasing to the eyes, unfortunately did not have the wherewithal to bring back my credit card. After 20 minutes of waiting, I asked to get my credit card back and when she returned, came back with someone else's ticket without the credit card. The supervisor/manager on staff spoke to the young lady, went back to retrieve the right ticket, and finally produced the correct credit card. Not only that, throughout the duration of my stay, my server was very non-hospitable and gave off a hint of attitude. This server also charged my credit card for a dinner price appetizer when it was clearly lunchtime. Should beauty be an excuse for poor service? I think not. After saying all that, the environment was some what cozy, but the tables are too close together. Maybe things will improve in the future, but for now, things are not as they should be and I don't think I'll be taking a chance at this establishment again. Good luck to you all.
Pros: It was some what cozy looking.
Cons: Some meals are not as traditional as it should be and the servers should lose the attitude and increase their memory skills.

I love Thai food but by far this is one of the worst Thai places in Dallas. I really do not understand why so many people name this place as one of the best places. First off they asked us to remove our caps I mean come on THIS PLACE WASN'T EVEN THAT UPSCALE!!! The pad kee mao was really greasy with no basil flavor. I also tried their pannang curry and it had no flavor at all to it. Their thai fried rice was also very bland. Overall the atmosphere was pleasant but the food did not meet up to the standards others had. If you want really good Thai food go to Bangkok Orchid in Irving next to the Target off of 183 and Beltline.
Pros: Good Ambience and lots of parking
Cons: BAD FOOD!

Unimpressive! Not sure where all the "best in Dallas" comes from. The dishes are sloppy concoctions of disparate flavors with none of the subtleness that's expected in Thai. Greasy is the flavor I've experienced most often and the huge chunks of onion and bell peppers do nothing for integration. Drunken noodles that taste oily is unexcusable. It's one of the generic asian places that surfs on inexperience of it's patrons. Pass. Try Mint or Thai Soon
Pros: easy to get to.
Cons: the food is weak.

First off, I have to say that it is the best Thai food restaurant in the entire DFW metroplex, but it also has the most horrible service in the entire DFW metroplex. The illiterate hostess, the smug waiters, and the clueless manager don't do anything but ruin the entire dining experience for you. I would think twice before coming to this restaurant, because unless you have the patience for it, be prepared to be waiting while people who come in after you are already having dessert while you are stuck in the crowd doorway.
Pros: Awesome Food
Cons: HORRIBLE SERVICE
