I have been eating here for years, the food is consistent, and the wait staff is professional and courteous. Whether just heading to the bar for a drink and some dessert, or a full dinner with 8 of your friends you will leave stuffed and happy. There are times when there is a wait in very busy times, but that gives you an excuse to enjoy the bar for a bit. This is not the place to go if you want to run in eat fast and leave quick, it is a full experience.
Pros: Experience, food, ambiance

This is the place to go for special occasions. The food is phenominal the service impecable. I love the crab cakes and the caviar and toast points that are complementary. They have an extensive wine list and arguably the best steak in Dallas. I have been reading some reviews about how long it takes to order get food etc. This is a place for event dining. Meaning eating here is an event. It is not a fast food joint to zip in and zip out. You wil spend for appetizer, entree and dessert at least 2 hours. At most fine dining places this is normal. Also, as a tip, if eating as a couple, you can order half orders of the side dishes and they are plenty for two, plus less expensive. I have been there for several birthdays and have never been disappointed. This past birthday they brought out a special dessert with candle and chocolate that was painted with gold saying Happy Birthday and my name. It was a very nice touch. This restaurant aims to please and is not offended if your steak is too rare or too done. I love, love, love this place. It reminds me of a place where Dino and the others would go back in the day, full of dark wood, suits, piano player, very masculine and fabulous!
Pros: Food, Ambience, Wine List
Cons: Dark

Our party arrived early, so we ran over to the bar to get drinks. I'd say, within 10 mins we were seated. I'm getting old, so I had to have some help reading the menu since it's so dark. The bone in rib eye is excellent. Very tender aged. You can tell the quality of meat is very different than Bob's or M&M's. Ordered creamed corn as a side and the fries. Cream corn is immaculate. And the fries are just the way I like it, crispy and thinly sliced. This is also a very good place for large parties.
Pros: Wine list, "reasonable" priced. Lots of who-chee mamas at bar
Cons: valet only...very dark inside.

Nick & Sam's is the best steakhouse we have ever experienced. The food is excellent, the service is second to none and you feel so welcome. We met the chef (Samir) and he is an incredible person that is a perfectionist. We started with a glass of wine and they treated us to complimentary caviar! The crabcakes are a great start. Their salads are so huge that we share a salad and they encourage that and NEVER make you feel weird about sharing. Then the steaks ~ the long bone rib eye is a sight to behold and so delicious. The chateaubriand is a treat to share with 2 - 3 people. Sometimes we share the 22-26 oz. steak and get some wonderful sides to go with it. When we take guests from out of town to N & S they always remember their visit and how they were treated so special. It is hard to find another steakhouse that even comes close in quality or service. This is not just a restaurant, but an experience!
Pros: Food is excellent, service is excellent and charming, friendly atmosphere

Great good, service at the level you'd expect from a high-end restaurant, crowded, and noisy. We went there for the first time yesterday on a Saturday evening. Beginning with the complementary caviar appetizer, proceeding through excellent steaks and the sea bass special, and ending with beignet dessert, all of the food was outstanding. Wait staff were attentive and cordial. We (my wife and I both) were distracted by the extreme crowding, though. There were far too many tables packed together. No one, including waiters, could maneuver between chairs without kicking and bumping them constantly, and there were only a few places where anyone could even maneuver through at all. It was noisy on a weekend evening, and the prices were what you would anticipate... without any alcoholic drinks, our meals together ran $145 with tips. Good place, but know what you're getting into.

The Problems we have had is all about the bad/inexperienced wait staff. We Like the atmospher at Nick and Sams. The food is good, but it is putting up with the staff that spoils the evening. If I could speak to the owner, I would tell him that he has a great restaurant that the staff is flushing due to poor service. for all the problems with the staff and service, the price is way too high. If they had the service at Capital Grille this would be a great place. Still, it is not as bad as the Old Warsaw. Don't go there for sure.
My best recommendation is Capital Grille or Pappas.
Pros: Nice ambiance and food
Cons: Service and lack of training of wait staff - Priced too high for the service you get.

Had 9 pm reservations for 4 and arrived promptly on Saturday and weren't seated until 9:45 pm. The bar area was buzzing with activity so the wait wasn't awful, but the service in our secluded part of the bar area was poor. We ordered a bottle of wine and the waitress clearly forgot so we asked another one to bring it. Once we were seated, our server was competent, if an automaton. He seemed inexperienced and overwhelmed. We didn't get to order until 10:15. Lots of attempts to upsell (e.g., Kobe beef). Please! If I wanted someone to upsell me I'd go to one of the Landry's restaurants. Food came predictably late. The "damn good" French Fries are so, so...I"ll go to Pastis in NYC anyday over this mountain of food. Other sides of asparagus and spinach were excellent.
The steaks were worth the wait. Excellent quality and well cooked, though some of the plates were not pre-warmed. Not pre-warming plates strikes me as inexcusable. The wine selection was good, but unless your bottle of red is over one hundred dollars it will not be served at cellar temperature. Our first one was served far too warm, but the second one met the price threshold and was served at the appropriate temperature. Overall for four hundred dollars I would have expected a far better experience. Will not be going back anytime soon. Dallas has better on offer for far less money.
Pros: Great steak, good ambience
Cons: Poor service during wait in bar area and in restaurant, wine not served at proper temperature
