And that something would be "Magnificent". The food is absolutely incredible. I could go on and on about the amazing chicken fried chicken with Dijon mustard gravy or the fresh green beans or the homemade foccacia, but let's be honest, everyone wants to know about the atmosphere.
The atmosphere at M may be the second reason my wife and I go there so much (next to the food of course.) If we are going to the wind symphony, showing up in a coat and tie with my wife in tow in her evening finest would not cause anyone to bat an eye. Likewise, if we just finished a long day of a yard work, a quick shower, jeans and a baseball cap will not draw an additional glance either.
M is one of the few places in Dallas where you can come as you are and the place not only accepts it, but welcomes it. Sit on the patio and watch a baseball game or find a more romantic corner to charm your date. It's all possible at M.

This donut shop has to be hands down the best in Oak Cliff. Everything from the donuts to the sausage rolls are yummy. The apple fritters are the biggest my husband has seen. They are closed on Mondays so that is the only negative. The cashier is the friendliest lady I know at 6 am.

This sleek 75-seat restaurant boasts three levels and a 10,000-square-foot patio with bamboo water garden. The industrial decor's concrete floors, metal chairs and railings mix with Asian touches like bamboo place mats and stone figurines. The menu blends Texas bravado with Asian flavors in dishes with such macho names as Hot and Sour Shooters. The Five-Spice Duck breast features a tangy blend of Asian herbs while the Roasted Cashew Chicken is milder.

More
Kodak Theater architect David Rockwall redesigned the old Beau Nash space to create a dramatic backdrop for food that is more a work of art than a meal. Birchwood tree sculptures shed soft light on backlit stenciled blossoms cut in brushed metal and fastened to taupe pillars, dark woodblock flooring, and a wall of black river stones.Start with a cold dish and move on to a hot dish followed by sushi. Mild shishito peppers are an exotic alternative to edamame. The yellow tail tartar topped with caviar and a Japanese mountain peach is smooth and buttery with a hint of wasabi fire. Signature dishes include the inventive Peruvian style spicy salmon skewers, pink and tender filets lightly drizzled in ancho chile sauce. Red meat aficionados savor the thinly sliced beef tobanyaki served piping hot in a clay dish with baby asparagus, white shiitake and grilled Portobello mushrooms.

More
A dimly lit interior with a roaring fire blazing in the reception room invites diners to a cozy evening. Behind the small bar, attractive waitstaff flash friendly smiles while well-heeled patrons, who all seem to know each other, mingle easily. A long, high-ceilinged room with earth-toned walls capped by wooden beams hums with lively conversation beyond the bar.Chef Nick Badovinus of Fireside Pies fame has achieved another culinary triumph by focusing on the ingredients and limiting the menu to one page of inventive dishes. Start out with the barbecued quail, drizzled in tangy brown sauce and served warm over a bed of slaw nestled in a golden fried onion ring. Entrees include the spit-fired cut spare ribs with green apple-hoisin sauce; the meat so tender, it melts off the bone. Pair with side dishes such as blue cheese polenta or deep-dish macaroni casserole.

More
The legendary defensive tackle for the Cowboys might be from Pittsburgh, but his legendary barbecue lives on in Dallas. Rustic cowboy decor, with a contrasting blue-and-white glow, greets patrons to White's second barbecue joint in Dallas area. Try the Manster sandwich, named after White himself: generous portions of slow-cooked, lean beef or chicken. Guests choose from an array of sides; macaroni and cheese, beans and fresh cole slaw, just to name a few.

Consistently great meals. Starting with drinks and ending with dessert, there's never been a misstep. All drinks have fresh squeezed juices. Desserts are decadent. Meals themselves are superb. And all for the same price you'd pay at any chain restaurant. The only drawback is that the bar area is very small and can get crowded.

If you're hungry for a really, really, good hamburger you have to try JG's! It 's located on Greenville Ave North of LBJ Freeway in a shopping strip. My favorite is the mushroom cheeseburger, it's unbelievably good! I've tried other places in Dallas and they just don't compare. One of the secrets is they butter the bun and toast it , so it's buttery fresh flavor adds to the hamburger. Any time my daughter's in town and we're hungry for a hamburger this is where we go. Honestly, better then home made! They have a bar that you add whatever "extras" you want so you can make it to perfection! A must try! Open for Lunch and Dinner.
