Whenever your near Dallas, TX. You should stop by the Dallas Arboretum whenever you have a chance. They change it so if you come back more than once, you won't be seeing the same exact things. It is very pretty and it is so fun to visit! I would higly reccommend it.
Pros: the beautiful flowers, view of the lake.

This is THE place for ladies who love ladies in Dallas. Great jukebox, fun music, dance floor. Friendly to guys too.
They have specious dance floor, and all the musics are well selected. The bans are very good too. The cement patio dotted with a few potted palms is more utilitarian than decorative, but the location can't be beat. Smack in the middle of the Cedar Springs strip of bars, restaurants and boutiques, Sue Ellen's outdoor seating provides prime people-watching.

As an adolescent, I was treated at Timberlawn inpatient from December of 1984 to September of 1986. The program helped me tremendously. There is no way I could be where I am today if I had not gone through this long-term treatment. It changed my life. Although back in those days, Timberlawn was the 3rd Best Hospital in the Nation. And Private meant Private. We were involved in meaningful structure and worked with exemplary staff and doctors. I lived on the Girls' Adolescent Unit. This unit held twenty females ages 12 to 18. We were like a family. This was long term treatment and nobody was discharged inside of a year hospitalization. We had Division Meetings with the staff and nurses every day; our doctors saw us for rounds, we had our own therapist, and group therapy. I suppose long term treatment in the present day is defined as a three-day thing. No wonder it's dirty and the staff are irate. Healthcare has changed - it's a free-for-all. You don't get what you pay for anymore; nobody's maintaining the components. And doctors have to follow treatment plans that are implemented by some MBAs and Business people. But at least I can say that my experience in the 80s is something for which I am grateful. If there were politics or friction within the hospital administration and associates, I never saw it. It was a professional institution focused solely on the care and development of mental health patients. In the earlier days, the center was named Timberlawn Sanitarium. When I arrived there it was named Timberlawn Hospital. The different housing units were named (to the best of my memory): Children's Unit, Boys and Girls Adolescent Unit, Bloss (adult), Berkett I and II (those 2 were the newer white buildings), also Chevins (adult women), and Witt (adult men). The food was first class; there was no turnover in staff. It was the real deal. If anyone had the Timberlawn exper

The Majestic is as close as a Dallas theater comes to resembling Broadway, and it does so with style and elan. Exquisite converted, cozy movie theater maintains its original old-world glitzy charm, and hosts some wonderful touring shows during the Broadway Majestic Series in the Fall through Spring. Other major events scheduled there throughout the year.
PROS: Beautiful theater, wonderful live theater.

I love this church. The belief system is excellent. They believe that God is within us, and guides us if we just want Him too. And everything happens for a reason, we just need to look at the situation and try to find the good. There are many different classes and support groups. Something for everyone.

Grace is welcoming. It feels like a big family. The pastor preaches in a biblical/story telling way. The adult classes are very good (lots of seminary professors). The childrens program is well-run and actually teaches kids the bible.

I love this place. We used to go there all the time when we lived on this side of town. The food is great and the family that runs the place is great, and everyone is really friendly. The band on the weekend can be really loud, but if you sit across the restaraunt from them it's ok. Food is wonderful, I haven't found anywhere else that compares.

Seriously, while you won't learn a whole lot just by walking through the museum, there are many interesting displays that will interest kids and adults of all ages. The cool thing is, if you have questions, there are people around who can answer them well. I find this to be a good way to spend half a day with friends or the family.
