I love Swirll winery! I am a person who will usually only drink wine if I must, but never a lot ... That is, unless it's Swirll wine! They use far far less preservatives in their wines than store-bought wines, which makes it taste so much better! It doesn't have that sour bite that I don't like about other wines! Also, my brother suffers from migraines, and the preservatives in red wines will always give him a migraine - Again, unless it's Swirll! He is able to enjoy their red wine without suffering a migraine because of it!
My husband and I (then fiance) also made 2 batches of the wine cooler-style wines to serve at our fall wedding! We drank some at the wedding, but most of them went home as wedding favors! We got RAVE reviews from our guests - Not only at the incredible wine, but the unique gift!
Swirll Winery is fantastic, and a must-visit in Dallas!
Pros: Great wine, great people, great service
Cons: None

I recently moved to Downtown Dallas from Houston and was hoping to find a good wine bar. I passed by Swirll within the first week I was here and popped in. This place is fantastic! These folks have a great selection of wine, best cheese and meat plates in town, they make their own wine, and if you are so inclined, you too can make your own wine at their establishment. The staff is professional, friendly and very knowledgeable. Great for drinks before a date downtown or just going out for drinks. If you love wine like me, or you are new to wine and want to learn more, this is the place to go!
Pros: Excellent selection of wine/cheese/meats, awesome staff!
Cons: None that I can tell!

This wine bar and winery in downtown Dallas is now under NEW ownership! They bought it a few months ago and completely revamped the wine bar. It is chic and sleek now. The seating is low and intimate in some areas and high and friendly in other sections. They did a great job of adding to the menu and adding additional options for tastings. Food is available for your parties and it’s a perfect place for a girls night out or a place for group events like team building while making wine. I went to one where they made wine at a bacherlotte party for the wedding. Pretty cool. If you are looking for a unique first date spot this was voted the #1 first date spot downtown Dallas. Give them another try if you have been before, it’s better than ever!
Pros: Chic atmosphere great selection
Cons: parking , but it is in the building so not really a con

Wine tasting event last night was excellent. We were highly impressed with the quality of wine and the personal attention from Peggy and Louis. There is obviously a large base of repeat customers because most guests in the door were known by name and greeted warmly. We had such a great time, we were surprised to find that three hours had slipped away while we sipped our wine, talked, and munched on the cheeses, crackers, and fruit preserves... The wine was fantastic, low in sulfites and although we imbibed quite a bit, no one was hungover this morning. We even bought some to give as gifts. Highly recommended!
Pros: excellent service, ambiance, delicious wine.
Cons: parking downtown is never easy

What a wonderful place! We went here to celebrate our 1 year anniversary to bring back our memories of our honeymoon in France...it was amazing. Louis(owner) was our host. He was so friendly. He tasted wine with us, shared stories as well as explained the different cheeses, jams, fruits, the pairings... It was a wonderful evening. The only thing that would have made this better is if it was in an actual wine cave.

I went last fall with a party of 10 or so for a "girl's night out." We were given different appetizers (homemade meatballs, alfredo pizza etc...) with each tasting of a new wine. The pairings were perfect and the service was wonderful. Although we chose not to make our own wine, we bought several bottles from the tasting and will definitly go back. We were happy with our experience!
Pros: The expertise and pairing of wine and homemade appetizers
Cons: none

Ambiance is really the only thing this establishment has going for it. The wine is sub-par and overpriced and the "wine making" experience really just involves stirring the mixture in a white plastic bucket after you empty the grapes from a plastic bag. More importantly though, the management of Swirll is rude in such an extreme way it became almost unbelievable. I would highly recommend avoiding this place, as there are far better wine bars in the area that understand how not to insult their customers. When spending $500-$1000 you would expect the customer service to be more comparable to fine dining than a gas station.
Pros: None
Cons: Management is crazy...

This was the worst dining/wine experience I have ever had. The people who run this place are incredibly rude and disorganized. Moreover, the quality of wine does not comport with the overpricing. I would recommend you avoid this place at all costs. For a good wine experience, chooose Times Ten Cellar or Tony's.

We went with a group of people for a friends birthday. We enjoyed being there and making wine. The evening was going well till we gave out several credit cards for paying the bill. The owners wife started repeatedly chiding us on not knowing the house policy of one credit card per group. Unfortunately, our group was never informed of this policy and had we been asked nicely we would have obliged. After being treated like that we obviously did not want to return in order to pick up the wine we made. The owner made a huge fuss over that and we finally paid the balance of the bill without the wine we made on a single card. The owner then very rudely asked the entire group to leave the resturant and slammed the door on us. It ruined a perfectly good evening and it was really embarassing for my friend celebrating her birthday. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
