OMG, we sooooo just loved our first experience at Louie's. On the recommendation of a good friend, and of course, other Yelp reviews, BF and I have been dying to give Louie's a try, salivating over the thought of a Greek Salad and their acclaimed pizza.
We were not disappointed. Arrived around 1700 on Saturday and were promptly seated, and greeted by friendly server, Tiffany. She could have not been more attentive. Drinks arrived quickly, order taken and we settled back with our libations to enjoy the evening. And thus we did! The Greek Salad, which we split, was delicious; more than enough for two. The dressing was so tasty, could have licked my bowl.
Our pizza, with pepperoni, black olives, garlic, tomatoes & onions, was possibly some of the best pizza we have enjoyed anywhere. Typically, I am a fan of a thicker crust, but Louie's changed my mind. The crust....to die for! And a large was REALLY large. The sauce was soooo yummy, toppings were generous, and it came out piping hot. We took half of it back to our hotel for a late night snack. (We were staying at the Melrose for a quick getaway from our daily Dallas house routines!) Pizza was completely gone before midnight !! Almost even better cold!
Unlike several of other reviews, our service was outstanding; quick, efficient and very friendly. We were in and out under an hour and by the time we left, the place was packed with folks waiting at the door to be seated.
A wonderful first time experience and impression. Can't wait to make plans to venture out of North Dallas and go back to see Louie down South !!!!
Pros: Best Pizza most anywhere & Greek Salad..yum
Cons: Location - too far from my 'hood

This place has always been a risk. Every time I have been to Louies you are unsure if you will be mistreated or simply served. NEVER expect to be welcomed because this is definitely NOT cheers. I have been to Louies numerous times over the years and I have chosen never to eat there again. Occasionally we choose to order take out but still anxious that they will be a--holes. Like their food hate the place!
Pros: Pizza and Ceasar Salad
Cons: The attitude of employees

Louie's Pizza is a rip off joint that came up with some type of scheme to get reviews claiming they have the Best Pizza in Dallas, DON'T BELIEVE IT, we bought a "large" pepperoni, which was smaller that most medium pizzas and had about 10 pieces of pepperoni. You can also buy a can of domestic beer for 5 bucks while you wait 20 minutes past the time they tell you your pizza will be ready.
Pros: Lesson learned
Cons: Consession stand 1 topping pizza for 15 bucks

Went to this place for the first time ever after my girlfriend saw it on tv and I have to say I will never go again.
First off, we get there and sit at a table next to the tv because I want to watch the game, our waitress comes right over and immediately tell us, doesnt' ask but tells us, you need to move to a two top so this table can be used by bigger parties. I have no problem with that but when they tell me and not ask me, then I got a problem. Pizza was way too greasy, and after my girlfriend got the rest to go we waited 15 minutes for our check. Had a chance for a customer for life, now I will let everyone know to not go there.
Pros: None
Cons: awful service, bad attitudes

We were in Dallas from the 'burbs and went to Louie's for dinner. We had heard great things about it. The food was good....not great. All our entrees came out at different times. One person was done before the other 2 were served. After waiting at least 15 minutes for the other 2 entrees to arrive, they came and one was cold, the other one was warm, but not hot.
We enjoyed their clam chowder and their greek salad. Both were outstanding. The pizza was great for thin crust. We prefer a thicker and chewier crust, but we knew before we went the type of pizza they had. The pizza sauce was outstanding. The meatball sub was good, would have been better if it had arrived hot, not just warm. The chicken and broccoli was perfectly cooked and yummy....but ice cold. We couldn't understand why both weren't hot, since we waited over 15 minutes for it after the other things were served.
The service is only fair and sort of friendly. I don't think it is the waitresses fault, though. Fact is, they are running their butts off for way too many tables. They are also required to bus the tables. We don't understand why such a busy and successful place won't hire a busboy. It is ridiculous to put so much on the few waitresses and still expect exemplary service. We were in the bar area and there were only 2 servers for over 20 tables. And some of these tables were huge parties. I will say that a smile and some compassion goes a long way with them. People that were rude, entitled and demanding got the same back. We were much nicer and we received much better service.
Would we go back? Maybe. But it isn't worth a special trip.
Pros: Decent Food and Fun Crowd
Cons: Harried Waitstaff

That's messed up JR. You did'nt even have the face to give Luz his dues on National TV. You know for a fact the recipe for the "Grill Marinade" was his! Instead you said you got it from "Some Guy"! You took the credit for "that guy" & who knows what else? I worked in that kitchen for 10+years( Oh, for Louie, to be exact it was 11 years). You should be ashamed of yourself Chris C. Louie...I know you lied to everyone after I gave you my two weeks notice. I heard from a worthy source that it took you a month to fess-up that i actually gave you notice. Your word is as thin as your pizza crust!!!!!!!!!!!
Pros: Garbage PIZZA?? I thought it was a LEBA.......

the female staff are top notch, plus they have to deal with a packed house of mostly new customers who need to be educated/informed on what all louies has to offer. please give them a break and be patient, most important tip them well!! they are working extra hard to serve us the best thincrust pizza in dallas!! with people standing in line 2 get a table or a barstool. trust me they are slammed.
my father who lives in calfornia saw the the tv show last month and called/told me he wanted to go and try the pizza when he was coming to dallas the following week . my father, wife and i did just that. my wife and I have been to louies twice a week ever since!! the pineapple/ham/onion pizza is out of this world. treat yourself to a cesar salad and a pint or two of the grolsh beer to go along with your food.
the barkeepers are mature and knowledgeable and know how to make a damm good martini ! even better they rember your name and your drink of choice.
i am a 38 years old and i do not wear a suit to my job . my wife is 40 and is a manger of a deli and we fit right in with the bar crowd at louies .
part of me does not want to publish my review cause i fear wating in line to get a tabel could even take longer but the service ,food and drinks are so above the rest that i had 2 share my point of view. i must give away what was giving to me in order to keep what i got.
2 avoid the long waiting time try coming to louies
