Recently a family friend was recuperating from knee surgery, and was at Autumn Leaves for rehab. Wow, 90% of the staff needs to find another form of employment. Should it take 35 minutes for the room attendant to come and assist the patients with their restroom needs??? NO. Should they taunt the patients regarding items in their room they cannot reach on their own??? No. Should they refuse phone service to the patients??? No. Should a patient still be waiting at 1:20 for a lunch tray?? No. I would refer to their facility as offering sub-standard care, but I would have to include the word "care", and thats not an accurate description of the employee's at this facility. I wouldn't take my dog there. This paticular family friend is now recuperating at home due to the poor care she received at Autumn Leaves on Emerald Isle in Dallas. There are people in life that are not meant to care for the elderly, this place is full of them. I could blame the attendants for the above referenced items, but I also do not excuse the fact that their superiors are responsible for their behavior. If they were doing their job, these people would not be allowed to keep their job. It was expecially unbelievable to witness the attendants coming into the room to help our friend go to the bathroom, and were rolling their eyes, and using slouchy un-interested body language. How do you think these people treat the elderly when there isn't anyone looking??? If I were you, I wouldn't take my loved one there to find out.
