I have lived in the Cy-Fair area since 1972. JB's has been around since the late 70's or early 80's. They used to serve barbeque and chicken fried steaks. It was nothing special. My wife and I decided to try it out again a couple of months ago. We went at lunch, and just ate some barbeque. It is really good, and the sauce has a great flavor. You get a lot of food too. Since that time, we have went back and eaten the steak and seafood. The steak was delicious and really tender. The baked potatoe was large. The prices are really reasonable too. They have a jazz band on friday nights, and there are big screen televisions all around the room. The service could be a little better, but the food far outways any service issues.

I've been going to Carl's since I was in elementary school...I'm 26 now (but it's been around way longer than me). This place is like family to me and my family. The food is always excellent and it is THE BEST bbq around. They also have the biggest baked potatoes...my husband loves them!

My family stops by and eats here at least once a week! The kids love Rudy and Rudy Jr. The food is consistently among the best in Houston! I had my Baby Shower in the back room and everyone had a blast! The food was the reason we had the shower there... Our guests said the margaritas were the best and they especially enjoyed the bacon taquitos, they were so yummy! During my pregnancy I craved the queso and green sauce all of the time; so often that we had to keep a supply at our house ;)
I also have recommended the catering service to a friend downtown and they said Rudy was on time with the food and it was perfect for his business party. Our friends now drive from downtown to join us at the restaurant all of the time
Pros: Family-owned.... family-friendly... family fun...AND the Queso!!
Cons: nothing!

Seriously, I could eat the cheese enchiladas here every day! The queso and potato with fajita meat and chili are fantastic as well. Don't forget about the sopapillas! My family loves this place as well. The people are very friendly, and the service is good too. I would definitely recommend you try this place for dinner tonight!

Wow. I am shocked that this restaurant got such a poor review from the first and only poster. I have been to this location several times, and I tell you what, the first visit is what did it for us. My husband and I were on the lookout for a new home, and before checking out what is now our home and has been for going on 9 months, we definately came hungry! We had recognized the ambiance immediately, and loved it. We thought it had beautiful decor for such a mexican restaurant. The music was fun, and hip. Note: it might be a bit on the loud side, so be careful if loud music is not your thing. We dined here for lunch, and the portions were enough to be called a dinner portion. The taste...wow...it was amazing! I remember my husband had taco salad and was quite pleased. I had enchiladas, and to be honest with you, they were some of the best I had anywhere. To top that off...I am hard to please on mexican food, since my stepmom is hispanic, and knows all about mexican food...I have eaten homeade many a time...and this place was so close to it! It is hard to find a great mexican food place. This place is a winner!
Pros: Everything!
Cons: Nothing bad to be found here!

Pros: The chicken picatta is excellent!
Cons: In is out in North Houston which is a bit of a drive for us.

I've been three times to see Martha and will continue to go back. The service is great, the place is clean and the product is excellent! Plus, you can't beat the price. Some places are outrageous and their prices are certainly competitive. I've seen three friends there so far with the same results.
