First let me say that we had excellent service. We were there on a Saturday night around 7:30. It was moderately busy but not real crowded. We had a sweet waiter who was in training as well as a great waiter who was training him. We received prompt service and everything that we asked for was brought quickly. The interior is nice. This is a "budget" steakhouse not fine dining. My steak was okay. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great . However, I got the filet and it was only $17.95 which too me is cheap especially since it included one side and a trip to the salad bar. It was a little dry and salty. I would put the quality somewhere around Outback maybe. Not Taste of Texas or Perry's at all. But then again, you get what you pay for. My friends got the ranch hand chicken which they said was dry. They ate it with ketchup. Anyway, it was an okay experience but not enough to make me want to come back or recommend.
Pros: Service and Price
Cons: Food

Bertani's has a "no reservation" policy for parties of less than 10 persons. Their marketing department however has a policy of saying come on (way) out and there will be no problem in seating you. Whoa, Partners! More than 12 separate couples were turned away in dismay on Valentine's early evening, 5:45ish, being told the "non-policy policy" as late as the Friday before. No reply has been received from the marketing department.
Pros: Nice Texas Ranch Ubiquity
Cons: Bust in Reservation Policy

Stopped by last night. Service was good. However, If I'm going to pay a premium price for a rib eye ...I expect a premium piece of meat. It was less than 1/2 in thick. Decent flavor and cooked as ordered...but for half the price I get a much better steak at a chain. Although the prices were same, there is no comparison between Bertani and a quality steak house like a Perry's etc. You simply don't get what you pay for. The spinach was great!

My husband had stumbled across this restaurant a few months ago, so I thought it would be a nice place to take him for his birthday the day after Christmas. We had a party of 10 and apparently they had several large parties that evening and so we had to make our reservation later (7:30) than we expected.
They had one young man waiting on us. At first it started out well. When the food started coming out (salads first) he put the wrong ones in front of several of us, so we had to switch plates around. Then the food came out. I had ordered my steak medium and it came well done. Another person ordered theirs well done (not the same cut of steak) and it was dry as a bone. She ate mine and they had to cook another for me. He again put the wrong sides with the wrong person, so we played musical plates again. My husband ordered the special "surf and turf" (filet and lobster) which he said was marvelous. The ribeyes and porterhouse that were ordered were good, but were quite pricey. Only one size of porterhouse (32 oz) is available.
The waiter did overhear us talking about my husband having a birthday and did bring a creme brulee out with a candle, which was nice of him. However, he never offered dessert, after dinner drinks or coffee to anyone else. He just brought the bill. When we inquired about desserts-he just rattled them off instead of bringing the dessert tray that my daughter had seen on the way to the ladies room. My daughter and I split a brownie sundae (purchased-not made in house- pieces of brownie-cookie bites) and someone else ordered Italian cream cake (which was very dry). The waiter offered a cheesecake instead of the Italian cream, which was accepteable, until a hair was found. At that point we settled the bill and left.
Unfortunately, There will be no trying this establishment again.
Pros: Christmas decorations were nice
Cons: service, quality, price

We have been putting off going to Bertani because of the relatively high prices we saw on their downloaded menu but we decided to give it a try on my wifes birthday, i.e. special occasion.
The building and grounds are new and Texas attractive although the odd location on Telge is curious.
Inside is nice, open and comforatable and the service attentive and professional.
We started with a wedge salad with blu cheese dressing and it was fresh, large and with excellent blu cheese dressing and plenty of it. I had the pork chop ($18) and it was very good. My birthday girl had the surf and turf ($70 !) which was the daily special and she loved every bite. The desert menu is small but the deserts are pretty darn good so save room.
I definately will be back and it certainly was a good experiance but again it will be for a special occasion. Their prices for the quality/quanity of food and ambiance were just a little to high to make it a reqular stop in my opinion.
Pros: Really good food
Cons: Just a bit pricy for the quality and value

My wife and I have visited this restaurant many times over the summer and thought it was great. We just recently we went back and boy have they gone down hill since july and august. The food was sub standard and the service was awful. We asked our wait staff why the quality has seemed to have gone down hill and the young waiter told us they had lost their chef and were now using less expensive ingredients. How can a "fine dining" restaurant try to present itself this way with out a professional chef is false advertising. They obviously are trying to cut corners and I wouldn't be suprised to see them out of buisness by the end of the year. We will never go back and pay those prices. Not even 1 star.

My fiance and I finally got around to trying BR this past Wednesday night - we had tried the Monday before only to find that they aren't open on Mondays. Boy are we glad we tried again! We both travel for our jobs on an expense account and have the luxury of eating at some of the finest restaurants all over the country, so we feel we have fairly discriminating taste. We thought the steaks here were some of the best we have ever had! The prices were comparable to a high-end steakhouse (think Ruth Chris or Pappas or Del Frisco's) but when the waiter came over we found out that a salad and a side were included - making this restaurant more affordable than the others I mentioned which are completely a la carte. I ordered a filet and my fiance ordered the ribeye - he kept raving about the flavor of his ribeye as the best steak he has ever had until I popped a piece of mine in his mouth! Then he said that mine might even possibly be better than his fabulous choice! The sides were good if standard (spinach for me, mushrooms for him). The greek salad as a starter was a nice change from the same ol' ceasar or house options usually offered. The only thing that was less than perfect was that the service staff seemed a tad inexperienced - but very eager and earnest. We found ourselves grinning as the waiter walked away - if you look at the very minor gaffs as endearing rather than irritating you will have a wonderful evening.
Pros: Best steaks around, good wine list, fair prices
Cons: awkward location, inexperienced staff

I took my mother to eat at Bertani Ranch Steakhouse on a Wednesday night. The crowd was pretty light so there was no waiting. Once seated, an army of waitstaff attended to our every need. We didn't have to ask for refills on anything. My mother ordered a chicken dish that she said was excellent. When they brought it out, I told her she couldn't eat it because it was too pretty! I had the steak and baked potato with a wedge salad. They ribeye was awesome! It was cooked to perfection and had a wonderful flavor. We also had the crawfish beignets as an appetizer and those were excellent. I took home more than half of my dinner because the portions are plenty big. Our waiter was great as was the atmosphere of the restaurant. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone! The prices were a little more than maybe Outback Steakhouse or any other average run of the mill steakhouse, but you get what you pay for...great quality & service.
Pros: Food, service, atmosphere
Cons: none that I can think of...

It's clear that the recent steakhouse frenzy has produced too many mediocre steakhouse wannabees. But it's also produced some of the best. And among them I now count Bertani Ranch Steakhouse. Bertani may specialize in steaks but also offers a variety of fish and pastas on its menus. Sure, they have seafood, and salads, and a phenomenal crawfish etoufee, but you're there for the hunks of cow and the sheer masculinity of it all. Don't delude yourself with any notions otherwise. You can find bliss in this semi-fine dining restaurant located in Cypress, Texas.
The steak has a definite aged flavor, which distinguishes the best from those steakhouses who seem to be playing it safer, perhaps to limit potential spoilage. Like all of the steakhouses, that quality and execution may vary from steak to steak, but several trips here have yielded predictably good results. The standard sides, from asparagus, to garlic smashed potatoes to desserts, are also excellent. They go far beyond the call of duty when it comes to service. The water was filled constantly and none of us at the table ever had to ask for refills. The waiters had a lot of personality and made ordering quite fun. They are continually checking in on you to see of you need anything and are happy to oblige almost any request. They even open the door and greet you as you enter and exit. It just don't get any better than that.
Honestly, dining at Bertani Ranch Steakhouse is an opulent experience. Dishes feature the highest quality ingredients, cooked to perfection and served in generous portions. The ambiance is full of high energy with an undertone of elegance, with dark wood and subdued lighting throughout the dining room.
The wine list is also amazing! I could go on and on about the many wines I've divulged in. This restaurant is a great addition to the suburbs and I recommend it to anyone and everyone who loves a great steak, with family appeal, and superb service.
Pros: service and food
Cons: none that I've found so far...

My husband and I ate here about 5:30 pm on a Friday evening. We had a very comfortable booth with a window and a very nice waiter. We did not order steaks, but instead a penne pasta with crab in a white wine sauce. It was wonderful. Huge chunks of fresh crab. I think it was quite fattening, but it was delicious. It came with a salad that was fresh and so good. The price on this dish was very reasonable. I think it could have been higher for the amount and quality and including the salad. I'm sure we'll go back.
