India sweets and spices is a small grocery store cum restaurant on Venice blvd. There are a few benches put outside for eating. They have a great lunch and dinner combos for less that 4 dollars. You can get roti, rice, dhal, salad and 2 vegetables of the day. You can see more Americans eating there than Indians! Its a very popular place and parking is very limited. Great place to pick up cheap Indian food to go.

the other reviewers seem like they just don't know. the original howdy's is in malibu. howdy is also the guy who created the la salsa restaurant chain. howdy's taqueria is meant to be healthier, fresher, and more organic, which i guess could explain the blandness others have written about. we've been going to the one in malibu for years before or after a long day of surf and have checked out the culver city location a few times, too. they make the best chilaquiles and huevos rancheros i've had, hands down! their method of making it (putting the tortillas in the oven covered in cheese for a few minutes makes it crunchy and extra delicious!) is different than other places and you can definitely taste the difference. their mexican pizza and tostadas are good, too, and there's something about the salad dressing that just knocks your socks off. their tacos, both crispy and soft, can be on the salty side sometimes, but are otherwise good, especially the al pastor. the beans and rice, which are organic, are superb as well. sometimes you just don't want that mass produced (i.e., baja fresh, el torito, etc.) taste, you know? i'd give howdy's another chance if i were you - just go for breakfast instead. the people at the culver city one are really friendly and efficient, too.
Pros: breakfast, salsa bar, huevos rancheros, horchata!
Cons: breakfast is only from 9 to 11

I love Beauty Lab. Theresa has been cutting and coloring my hair for a while - personally I'll never change hairstylists as long as she is around. Beauty Lab is the opposite of the salon I went to in Brentwood - it's relaxed, very really low frills (The decor is non existent), and Theresa is not chatty or rushed. She's a very skilled, patient hairstylist who takes her time and does not cut corners. My hair has never looked better - and I've received many compliments on my hair since going to her. If you need a hairdresser who makes a lot of small talk she may not be a fit for you (She's pretty low key), but if you insist on a precise cut and expert color she will not disappoint.

Love this fabulous store, have collected some incredible edgy pieces there, the store is well organized, airy and super clean I always make sure of that before I put clothes on my body. The owner Samira is lovely and the salespeople are as well, very accommodating, but I like to be left alone when I shop, it"s great to know that help is there if I need it. Samira you make Culver City look good, Oh and keep bringing in them designer duds girl!! YOU ROCK BIG TIME!!

I took a group of friends to this restaurant a few weeks ago and really had a great time. The staff members are friendly and treat you like family. The group I came with had a diverse appetite. Some ordered the Pizza (which I heard was the best in town. And it really is!), others ordered pasta, and some had the lasagna. Everyone loved the food and the ambiance.
This place is a great place to take a large group or just a few people. In the tough economic times, this place is a real value giving large portions for a fair price. You will take home food for sure.
Since I live in the neighborhood, I took a to-go menu for delivery. I order their pizza at least once a week. For a good food and little money, this is the best restaurant in Culver City.

I've been going to Pomp now for a few years and it's the first furniture store I go to if I'm looking for anything. The owner Warren is always friendly and helpful whether I'm buying a $200 mirror or a $2000 bed. I love this store and have always been impressed by the quality of the merchandise and the professionalism of Warren and how he makes everyone feel just at home at Pomp home.

I got my transmission done here 2 years ago on 2000 Honda Odessy. During the 7 years I had to change the transmission 3 times and it was covered by factory warranty. It was a lemon car. None the less the 4th one miller honda wanted to charge 3 grand and I took over to These guys and they did it for 2 grand and it works like magic. Thanks guys... I recommend you guys to anybody.
