This is the worst restaurant, especially the service! We are not caucasian and there was definitely a difference in the way we were treated by the wait staff. It took them 5 minutes to seat us, no one would even look at us despite the fact that the restaurant was fairly empty. The minute a caucasian couple/group walked in they were immediately seated. We didn't receive our bread, menu or water until 10 minutes later. The food was horrible, overpriced and gave us both a stomach ache. The only thing our waitress did was hand us the menus, take our order, and give us our check (we had to flag her down to get our check). Not once did she come and ask her how our food was. If you are anything but caucasian I would NOT recommend this restaurant at all. It was seriously the worst restaurant I have ever been to in LA. I would NEVER go back here.

In 30 years of going to vets this is the worst experience I have ever had.
The staff just grabbed my cat to weigh her with no word to me. Of course my cat wasn't happy. I took her and it was fine. The scale turned out to be in another room and they were just going to walk out the door without saying a word about where they were going?
My cat needed a urine sample and the vet, Dr Kidwell, again without saying anything to me about what was going on, called for two people to help him. Meanwhile my cat is just sitting on the table leaning against me. No meowing, scratching or anything. The vet got angry that the staff folks didn't get in the room and I still didn't understand why three people were needed for a test on my very docile, 15 year old cat. I told him my cat would just sit still just fine and he ignored me.
Finally two guys came in and the vet said "urine sample, hold the animal". One guy steps in, grabs my cat by the back of the neck and swiftly flips her over and the other guy grabs her hind legs and pulls them apart. The vet picks up a needle and gets ready to jab my cat with it. I say "they have always gotten urine off the table before" or something like that and the vet points the needle at me and says "are you trying to tell me how to do my job?"
At that point I say "stop, I'm leaving" and the vet says "get the hell out of here then idiot".
That is about how sensitive you can expect this guy to be. A total creep.

WHat more you expect from a restaurant. It is great at dosas, lunch menu, and in special as fresh as home food. I have visited this place with my customers. They liked it as compared to any other indian or american restuarants in LA. This is now recommended by my customers considering the food taste, ambience, and on top of all superb hospitality
Pros: This place is great for business lunch meetings. great food

I usually order take out or delivery from Giovanni's. The usual, is an order of garlic bread, their caprese salad, and a pizza or a pasta. I've never gone wrong with Giovanni's. Great friendly neighborhood place with a lot of charm.
Sometimes my bf and i go here when we need to get away (aka walk across the street) and have some good italian food and a bottle of wine. (Bring your own and pay the 3 buck corkage fee). No dishes, great service, and cheap wine.
notice the theme here, good service. means a lot. if the food was mediocre the service would bring me back, but the food is good too. definitely a great combo!
Pros: Friendly, Eager to Please service
Cons: small parking lot

This is one of my favorite restaurants-- I like to go there for lunch or a date (last time my boyfriend was in town, he requested to go there twice in one weekend). The best way to get your money's worth is to share a combination plate (small samples of several dishes) between two to four people. I really like the iced tea and the wine as a good compliment to the meals.
My little brother loves the chicken and egg.. they're not really a fave for me, but there is seemingly something for everyone whether they are vegetarian or not.

This restaurant is located in the alley way, but there is a public city parking just in front of it. They mainly serve breakfast and lunch. Some american breakfasts, burgers, together with Japanese noodles and rice dishes. It is really cheap, and the food is quite good. For $4.5 you can get a Yakisoba, or $3 for a breakfast.

I was visiting los Angeles for 3 weeks and tried food in several Indianrestaurants and I found Mayura is the best in all respects. food quality is superb , very clean and service really amazing. I am impressed by the variety and authentic taste of the food. I had seven dinners and 6 buffets at Mayura. Unlimited dosas are served with buffet and there are so many choices for different spice levels. Every time when I visited this place I saw good Indian crowd there which is a testimony of the greatness of the place.
Pros: The best food and service
Cons: sometimes parking a little hard.

More
The Conservatory Coffee House in Culver City (10117 Washington Blvd) boasts a long line of regular customers who refuse to go any place else. That's most likely because the coffee is roasted there daily by A.J. the manager/ jazz enthusiast who is the soul of the establishment. They offer a variety of fresh ground coffees for take home which are done to order. The coffee house itself offers Elixirs, teas, all traditional coffee drinks and an assortment of pastries to die for, really. You've never had a croissant or danish like this at Starbucks or Coffee Bean. The atmosphere is cozy with all the regulars including a few Sony execs with laptops from across the street. Jazz is usually the music of choice but that does vary if A.J. actually takes 5 minutes off from work. They're open 6 days a week. Saturdays till 2p and weekdays till 6p and closed on Sundays.
As a note on their character, they also donate to local establishments and charities (when approached by guests) on a regular basis.

This is the second time on a Saturday night we?ve been to MEET! Tonight?s meal was all about their tapas menu, but that?s not all they do well (more on that in a moment). We had four fantastic dishes consisting of succulent smoked salmon on potato crisps, creative crusted calamari, perfectly pan seared scallops, and killer Kobe slider burgers on brioche. On our first visit, we weren?t able to fit in dessert as it was my birthday and I had a homemade lemon/blueberry tart waiting for me at home, but this time we had pastry Chef Sebastian Chassignol?s rich chocolate cake which I?ve seriously never had anything like it before. Unbelievably heavenly!
My birthday experience was equally impressive. And just like last night?s experience, the owners, Sebastian, and his lovely and charming wife, Cecile, greeted us at the door with the most friendly smiles and good cheer. We like sitting indoors, though, most people like their lovely patio with all those tiny white lights everywhere in the trees giving it a Champs Elysees feel. My partner and I both like sitting near an open kitchen to watch chef?s kitchen operation.
Chef Scott Garrett is brilliant and very on top of his game. Since it was also a Saturday night, and the place filled up fast, we didn?t want to stop him and ask questions like where he was trained, and how they formulated their business plan. But a plan there is because the cuisine and service is five stars! And for a Bistro, they deliver top notch service and food right up there with The Patina Group.
That night we both decided on the halibut with b?arnaise sauce as our entr?e along with two sides of your choice. Everything is reasonably priced. We both had the saut?ed spinach, but for our second, I opted for the basmati rice (loved the garlic infusion) and my partner opted for their ?trumpet? of French Fries. Never saw a metal contraption like it, but it certainly was grand and huge (perhaps a bit too huge ? we both nibbled on French Fries throughout the meal and still didn?t finish them all, but they were definitely delicious).
Sebastian came out with an amuse bouche of a halibut mixture over crouton-like bread that was to die for. My friend chose the lobster bisque as an appetizer and I picked the pan seared scallops (can you tell I dig the scallops?). The pureed pea sauce, a creation of Chef Scott Garrett?s, was mysterious and fabulous. At first I thought it was wasabi. I refrained from pressing the issue of his secret as the place was hopping! The presentation was also extraordinary, and being a Libra, aesthetics are very important to me (I told you I was hard to please, especially on my birthday).
MEET is by far, one of the best dining experiences you will have if you enjoy French cuisine.
Pros: Exemplary service and extraordinary cuisine
Cons: None that I can think of
