What used to be Hermitage is now called MEET. For only being open four weeks, we were very impressed with the food, the service. The prices were very reasonable and with wine, an appetizer, two entrees and dessert, it coust us just under a hundred dollars, which in LA is very reasonable, especially when you leave satisfied. It's quaint, so don't expect not to hear your neighbor's conversation, but the rest makes up for it. I highly recommend this place and I'm wishing this local gem to succeed in these hard financial times. It's a good one, would love to see it stay around for a long time. PS, management is fantastic, the owner makes sure you are happy or he goes out of his way to do so. We will be back and we will be spreading the word around to our friends to visit
Pros: FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE AT MEET

I went there 2 days ago and I had not been to Bistro de l'Hermitage for ahwile, and I am glad to say that it is as wonderful as I remembered. the sauteed lamb remains my favorite dish anywhere and the chocolate ganache cake with strawberry sauce is just delicious !
This place is really good and the prices aren't outrageous like at other French restaurants.

Love this place. The food is consistently good and the service warm and friendly. Feels like I'm in France. My favorites are the endive salad (something a lot of restaurants offer, but the walnuts here of coated with honey and the dressing is yummy) and the Moqueca Shrimp. Recommend sitting on the patio as the chairs out there are more comfy than the chairs inside.
Pros: Amazing food; relaxing atmosphere.
Cons: Inside seating not so comfy

I took my girlfriend to this place after a movie , I was there a few years ago, i tought we should try it again. it was 9:30 they only had 2 tables outside the waiter came to take our drink order, and coming from the movies we just wanted water to start, Big mistake the waiter's attitude changed completely. he gave us a nasty look( we should of left then ) we ordered a cup of french onion soup that we were assured it was vegan. My girlfriend who is a chef knew right away that there was beef stock in the soup. We aked the waiter to check with the chef, he said that he was certain that no stock was added to anything.. i ordered trout, arrived over cooked, my girlfriend got the Veal liver ( over cooked served with a watered boring sause), both of our entrees got served with this soggy veggies, mostly likely leftovers from the lunch service. the wine was sub par. the waiter dropped our food to the table and never came back to check if everything was ok. he was busy on the phone in the restaurant. all this with only 2 tables seated outside. Dinner for 2 80.00 without tips Well t is my mistake for choosing to dine at this place. Avoid-Avoid-Avoid...
Pros: nothing
Cons: WINE, PRICE,SERVISE, SERVICE,SERVICE!!!!

Over rated... I ordered the halibut, is was either frozen or who ever cooked it s... at what they do. It was way over cooked and too fishy. the ice cream on the apple tart was soft as it could be and it tasted like metal so that tells you how old is it . who ever owns this place odd to give a little more respest to the customers if they want to stay in bussines because this are rough times and I am definately not going back.
Cons: too expensive for average food

We actually made a reservation on a Friday night and I have no idea why. Perhaps because we thought that those that reviewed this restaurant gave it decent reviews and we assumed there would be a crowd. How wrong we were!
First the restaurant was empty, perhaps we were on the early side of dining-especially for Europeans, so I did not think much of it! The restaurant inside was small but we tried to think of it as cozy. The atmosphere was wretched. The kitchen is behind the bar and that could be nice if it weren't for the tella novella on the TV playing loudly for those in the kitchen cooking.
The wine we ordered was mediocre at best, but we took the blame for that. But beyond that it was all on the kitchen and staff. The fois gras terrine was dry and tasteless on a bed of tired greens. Not a thing about it salvageable. The beet and goat cheese salad was even worse. The beets were right out of the can and the goat cheese was from some sad log of cheese that the picked up at the nearest grocery store-and not a gourmet one. While we debated quitting while we were behind and heading elsewhere, we stuck it out in hopes of improvement with the entrees. Again, bad call on our part. The sanddabs were overdone and drenched in some really bad cream sauce-not at all good. The vegetables were oversalted and relatively boring. The salad nicoise would have been a better choice at the Cheese Cake Factory (which I despise).
While the restaurant was relatively quiet, the service was not the best-I would say fine. The best part of the meal was when our check arrived and we could leave.
I have to say that I really question those that have reviewed this restaurant and given it anything other than low ratings. Perhaps they have never had French food before or for that matter good food. If you are doubting our love of the French food or if we have any kind of taste at all-we have eaten at some of the best spots in LA and were hoping to find a nice bistro near our house. After this experience we will gladly pay $$$ for a nice French meal and/or drive the distance. Take our advice skip this place entirely!!
Pros: Great Location and decent baguette.
Cons: Too many to name!

Had lunch with a friend and had an amazing "muqueca shrimp" and for dessert the passion fruit mousse. My friend had the Avocado & goat cheese salad and the Filet Mignon as a main dish. We were both very impressed.
The patio seating had a nice "European" feeling to it.
I strongly recommend it!
My compliments to the chef!
Pros: wonderful food
Cons: no real "cons" to mention...

Wonderful choice for a romantic dinner with your favorite guy or gal. We sat outside under the stars and shared a bottle Sancerre and a warm shrimp salad which is to DIE FOR. This is a must have! It was so good we ordered a second plate. For entrees I had the halibut while my boyfriend ordered the french pork chops with sweet potato fries. Again absolutely mouthwatering. We'll definitely be back.
Pros: delicious food, hottie waitstaff, great service
Cons: none
