My husband and I decided to try Brunello Trattoria, hoping it would erase the bad memory of dining at Ugo the night before. We were not disappointed! We walked into a warm, inviting restaurant and took a seat near the window. We nibbled on the yummy freshly baked bread while perusing the menu. We both ordered what turned out to be impressive glasses of wine. My husband's Pinot Grigio was so good -- nice and rich, almost like the body of a chardonnay, and I had an equally wonderful Sangiovese, with nice "legs" and full of cherries and spice. We shared the caprese salad. The buffalo mozzarella was so fresh, it almost tasted like a burrata. I had the spaghetti bolognese, which had a great overall flavor with small chunks of grounded meat. It was so delicious, I had to control myself and not overeat. My husband was really bummed I wouldn't let him have the leftovers. He had the linguini with clams and mussels in a red tomato sauce that was out of this world. Both pasta dishes were cooked perfectly al dente, and the sauces were awesome. I ordered the espresso creme brulee for dessert. It blew me away! It was perfect -- not overly sugared, with the espresso soaked through the custard. My husband -- who doesn't eat desserts -- ate a third of it! It was so freakin' good. We found out the owner was Italian, and his wife was the chef. No doubt they know what they're doing. All of the food was excellent and reasonably priced. My husband and I will definitely return soon!
Pros: Awesome food; warm, inviting interior
Cons: Maybe the strip bar billboard we viewed from our window seat...

Their pieces of fish are to die for, especially the yellowtail, albacore, and toro. Not too heavy on rolls, but a MUST is the fried calamari roll. Very small and intimate and chef Katsu is fabulous. If you are less into the Sushi and more into rolls, somewhere like Yamakasa is more your speed, but please check this joint out. it's my favorite in all of the west side...!

I have frequented this restaurant for the last three years.
If you are a vegetarian or vegan it is a wonderful place to go! You should try the vegetarian hot and sour soup (if you are vegan you can get it without egg). It is delicious! I also recommend the vegetarian kung pao chicken. It is so good! They have an entire vegetarian menu - just ask for it. They are really fast at preparing the food and the quality is consistent. Also on their website is a coupon for $5 off if you want to try it out. The prices are very reasonable for the amount of food that you get.
Pros: Good food, great value and good service.
Cons: The only con is that it is in a strip mall - but hey we are in L.A. aren't we?

Tokyo 77 is a warm, welcoming place to be for breakfast and lunch (not open for dinner). Good service, good prices, good food. Waitresses have worked there for decades. Mix of Japanese and Hawaiian food.

What a great place. Love it. If my stomach can handle pizza everyday, I'd go.

Tito's Tacos in Culver City is a MUST for anyone who loves tacos.
Tacos are $1.80 with cheese. They are simply delicious and so cheap. I always get three tacos and guacamole (every order comes with warm, crispy tortilla chips that they make fresh).
Parking is an ordeal because the place is SO popular, even on weekdays. So you might have to wait in your car 5-10 minutes until a spot opens up.
They won "Best Mexican Food Restaurant 2003" from City Search Los Angeles. And no wonder: everyone I bring to Tito's loves it!
I have to reiterate that Tito's Tacos is extremely popular and crowded. Don't become deterred from trying it though, because that just means that it's really good!

Sometimes the live music is not that great. However, it has improved a lot and there have been some great acts there lately.
The food, service and atmosphere is always great. The staff are outstanding - can't praise them highly enough. Parking is a bit limited but you're not going to drive there and have a few drinks then. Right?? :-) The staff will sort you out with a taxi once you're done.
Pros: Staff, lots of TVs, good food
Cons: Dodgy live music

Thai Thai BBQ was a great restaurant and we will truly miss it! The family that ran it were simply wonderful! We loved coming to eat every weekend. The lady who ran it would always greet us with a smile even when it was super crowded and she was busy.

We just moved around the corner from the Tattle Tale Room, and this is definitely going to be our new neighborhood bar. I'm not the kind of person who seeks out karaoke, but we had a BLAST on Saturday night. Armed with cheap, tall Tecate cans, we played some nekkid Photohunt and listened to people sing WELL to damn good songs - not your standard cheese. Most surprising was the girl who rocked out to Bjork's "Oh So Quiet" and actually nailed it. People here are serious!
There was a really good mix of people. I was pleasantly surprised with TTR, and can't wait to go back.
Pros: crowd, karaoke, divey, friendly
