I live in California now and have yet to find the caliber and quality of fish that I found at Marino's Market when I lived in wonderful, lovely Cranford so many years ago.
In addition to being the best, bar none, they are/were the nicest people around, esp. Mr and Mrs. Marino, the original founders...so long ago. In fond memories,

The chocolate is great. From pastel colored, milk, white and dark they seem to have them all. They also have fillings which are pretty good. They molds they have are useful for any occasion and it is a one stop shop for all of the party favor needs. the bags of chocolate can run 15.00 for a 5 lb. bag but it is worth it. Creamy and sweet nothing is better. The coconut filling is superb. Try it out.

Martin jewlers is one of those places that evrybody wishes they owned. The store looks very nice on both the inside and outside but the jewlrey is the really nice part. They have all the jewlrey you could ever need mostly diamonds though. The people are very nice but the prices are a bit to high for my taste. Overall good store nice people bad prices.

I really love this store. It's incredibly cluttered inside, with lots of different rooms to go wandering through. It is filled, floor to ceiling, with unusual stuff. It's one of those fun shops where you come across stuff that you remember from childhood, and can't believe is now considered "collectible". They have lots of interesting, quirky things as well as traditional antiques, so I always seem to come out with somethnig for myself or as a gift.

Perrotti's is a family owned business and the service is very friendly and personal. My family has been enjoying their service for 20+ years. My favorites are the homemade eggplant and manicotti - I also hand pick romano cheese to have freshly grated which supermarket brands can't compare to! Their meats are beautiful and they have many premade meals for today's busy lifestyles. all around - Perrotti's is a winner!

I really like this store. The owner is a really nice guy, who takes the time to explain things to you and really appreciates your business. He's not at all pushy, though, which is good since there's usually not many people in the store and he doesn't breathe down your neck. He's very willing to help kids who are interested in coin collecting, and he's branched out to other collectibles and antiques.

Nail Plaza is a great nail salon. The $25 manicure/pedicure can't be beat. They do an unbelievable job on the pedicure, which includes calf massage and high quality massage chairs. You'll feel great when they finish with you! SOmetimes the wait can be a bit long, but they try to accomodate everyone, and the manicurists are very nice. They offer a bonus card, which keeps you comnig back in order to ear the free manicure.

Dovetails was a nice addition to downtown Cranford when it opened a few years back. They did a good job with the exterior, adding an awning to make it quite attractive from the street. inside (and that's what counts!) they have lots of cute gifts and antiques. A varied assortment of stuff, so you're likeyl to walk out with something! THis is the kind of store that adds to a town's character.

This is the place where I get my candles. Whether I get it for myself or as gifts to others, candles sure are significant yet cheap. What can i say, girls love coming over seeing candles at your place. Uptown Peddler has a wide variety of candles which I am sure has your favorite scent!

This is a nice little place with all the things you would need for a nice little birthday gift. From cards to figurines to stuff animals, not a bad place to look around for a 'ok' friend birthday gift. The price is not bad, people are friendly, and the place smells great. Definitely go here if you live around the neighborhood.
