Habana is a fun place to go to. The ambiance is great as well as decor inside. The food is great and their mojitos are tasty.

I've only been to Habana (at the LAB) for lunch, I need to try it for dinner based on the other review. Their lunch menu is sooo good. If you're looking for good Cuban food, and want to go somewhere un-OC, try this place! Has never let me down. Parking is very limited though.

Located at The Lab, Habana is a good place for a nice dinner. Inside, the tables are candlelit, Outside the patio has a roaring fireplace. The sangria, red or white, is homemade. The calamari is to die for. I had the halibut cooked in corn husk and it was great. Prices are reasonable, and definitely for adults only.

After arriving at Habana's restaurant in Costa Mesa me and a friend ordered some drinks. I paid for my drink with my credit card. I never got my credit card back from the bartender. After a couple of hours we were leaving and I noticed I didn't have my card. I asked and the bartender said she had given it back to me. Immediately I canceled my card. The restaurant tried to blame me and my friend for the mishap and made it seem like we were trying to eat and run. We paid with another card and left. Three days later I found that there were charges from Habana?s restaurant on my account. I went to my bank and got all the info required to show fraud. I went to the manager, Jeff, and informed him of what had happened. After waiting about 30 min for him, he came back and said he cannot do anything to help. He didn?t take responsibility for the mishap and he didn?t even apologize. Instead he escorted me out of the restaurant like I was a criminal. I will never go back to this restaurant and I will be forwarding this to the general manager of the restaurant.
Pros: The drinks are weak and the food is no good
Cons: The service is horrible and the management is the worst i have ever seen

This isn't your traditional place to hang out. I like that it's close to the lab to go walk around afterwards. The value is good and the food is tasty.

Habana is one of my favorite restaurants. They have some of the most amazing appetizers, such as the crab cakes, the calamari, crawfish, ahi tuna on plantains, and the fried avocado is interesting. Their dinner entrees are pretty amazing across the board, and i love the seared ahi tuna that comes with mashed potatoes and little fried onions...yummy. The only entree that i have not particularly liked was the Paella. The chicken was REALLY rubbery and dry. But other than that this place is 5 stars accross the board. In regards to their lunch menu, i was impressed. The portions are a little smaller, which is perfect for me, and the prices are a little lower. My cousin and i split the spinach salad with shrimp (excellent), and the plantain crusted chicken sandwich (too good for words). The chicken sandwich comes with really good fries and coleslaw. Another plus for many is that there is outside seating which allows smoking cigarettes, and even cigars (at certain times of the day). This is probably the best chill, hip restaurant in all of O.C. Oh and the drinks are strong too...............i love the sparkling red wine and the sangria is good too (but really strong). You will not be dissapointed.
Pros: outside seating, atmosphere, flavorful food and good drinks
Cons: parking
