I Love to eat Healthy, so when I take a date out, I don't want to go out for steaks. Most of the health-food restaurants I know of are bohemian, and too casual. This place is high class, and delicious, gourmet raw food. I recommend it for romantic dates, business dinners, and anyone looking for a really exceptional dining experience.
Pros: Wine Selection Ambiance

although it's part of a small chain, the food and service are good. Eat at the bar and say hi to Pepe, one of the friendliest bartenders you'll ever meet. Pretty good happy hour food and sports on the TVs

Fourteen years and counting, my Husband and I are two of Jimmy's (the owner) best customers, making the trek willingly from Corona to South County as often as possible for the very best, FRESH, authentic Chinese food this very, very picky princess has ever imbibed! Long lines are the norm at lunch time each day and the food is not only fresh, but hot-as-lava and more than plentiful! The kitchen is open and all who enter this establishment can readily watch their meals being cooked in front of you!
I am forever grateful to a work colleague who took several of us to lunch one day and introduced me to this unassuming little place tucked inside of a pleasant strip mall where many other restaurants (albeit not so busy) reside.
Every meal Jimmy and his crew of Chinese cooks make is superb but our personal faves are the Black Mushroom Chicken Chop Suey (for me) and the Mongolian Chicken (for Hubbyman). The food is placed before you, steaming hot, within 10-20 minutes of ordering (even when they're super busy, which is most of the time!) and so plentiful that take-home containers are a must. The prices have always been and still remain very, very reasonable.
Our only complaint - closed on Sundays. Imagine! :) Thanks, Jimmy, for taking such good care of us and feeding us so well for so many years. Here's to many more. YUM!
Pros: Food, freshness, speed of service, portion sizes, prices!
Cons: Closed on Sundays - awwwww . . . they gotta rest one day a week! :)

Well, if you're looking to have some fun at a barbecue with friends, this is the place to be! Just thinking about Anjin makes my mouth water. They are open for lunch and dinner, but the dinner gets my number one vote! They open at 5pm, and stay open until the wee hours (1 am, at least). Located at Bristol and Paularino, this Japanese BBQ restaurant is sure to win you over with their distinctive dipping sauces (be sure to add extra garlic!) and their fast, friendly service. Be prepared to wait as seating is limited; customers sign in at the big book in front and may leave a cell phone number if there is a long line. Try off hours: closer to opening or later at night--reservations are not available.
My favorites: the #5 (prime rib eye), the stone pot rice, and the seaweed/red leaf lettuce salad. For those willing to try the exotic, they also serve tongue and beef sashimi! Once you've eaten your fill, finish it off with their out-of-this world cappuccino ice cream (the green tea is great, too). A must try!

If you're in the mood for something quick and tasty, and have a craving for Mexican food, this is the place to go. The salsa bar is fresh and full of variety. There is a taco Tuesday special for dinnertime. Of course California is overwhelmed by restaurants like these, but I would throw this in the category of the "Baja-Fresh" variety: fast, but fresh--not frozen. Perfect location for grabbing a bite to eat before the show (too bad the theaters don't offer a Tuesday night discount anymore, but then I'm showing my age!).
