When I went to school in Riverside, I would go to Costa Mesa to visit just cut some hair for a cheap $10. I would always be happy with the results even though it took longer than necessary since the student would have to talk to her professor and plan out her strategy for my head. Sure I didn't feel like I was human at the time except for a plastic head with hair, but it's okay. For $10, I really don't care because in the end, my haircut was fabulous.. layered and all. Also, coloring is quite cheap too using the best hair products.

I am someone who was looking for quality at an inexpensive price, well....I found it at Paul Mitchell the School. The stylist that I had was a Stylist 2, which is a higher level than 1, was awesome! She knew exactly what I wanted. The only negative is that you can really get attached to the person there doing your hair and then when they are done with school they move on, which is a bummer. I highly recommend trying it out. Call for an appointment, as they are usually booked up.

I decided to give Paul Mitchell School at try after rave reviews from my friends. Located in Costa Mesa, right next to OCC, the salon is very large and pretty clean. Be sure to make an appointment though. The prices are very affordable. I believe a haircut costs about $10 and hair color is $25. Because Paul Mitchell students cut your hair, it takes FOREVER!! I got a cut and color, which took about 4 hours! After your hair gets done, you have to wait for an instructor to come by to “okay” your hair. I recommend this place for those that don’t want to spend too much on their hair and are looking for a simple haircut.

This place is a barber school, but for those interested in futures in salons. All haircuts are given by students in training who are at one of two levels, those that are beginners and those that are nearly done with their schooling. The prices differ for the two as well, the new students being cheaper and the more advanced costing more. This does come at a price though. Newer students typically take longer and need mroe help from the teachers, but as long as youre patient, your haircut will come out just fine.

If you have the time and you are looking for a cheap hair cut or hair coloring this is the place for you. Paul Mitchell The School is located in Costa Mesa corner or Baker and Harbor. It is a school for hair stylists and make up artists. The students here are the coolest!! They look a little intimidating at first. There are a lot of punk rockers and goth kids at the school, but they are great at what they do. There are two phases to the school. Phase 1 offers you the cheapest price at only $10 a hair cut and $20 for color or highlghts. The students in Phase 1 are beginners and tend to take a little longer than usual. Don't be scared though, a teacher is always over looking any cut or color to make sure it is done right. Phase 2 is about $5.00 more but these kids are ready to go out into the hair stylinh business, most only have a couple hundred hours to put in and they will graduate. They really know what they are doing by the time they hit phase 2 and it is deffinately faster service. If you are looking for a great place for a cool up do, something different, these kids love to CREATE new styles so give them a shot. They use nothing but Paul Mitchell products so you know you are getting the best. This is truly a great
