This hotel has horrible customer service. My brother who is in the Army decided to get married in California and stay at Hotel Del Coronado for thier honeymoon. They made a reservation over the phone and they were told all they had to do was check in after thier wedding. When they arrived they were told that they needed to pay a 500$ deposit and they did not have the money to pay it. They ended cancelling thier room, but obviously they were charged a cancellation fee. The fee was $500 if you were a no show but since they did show up to the hotel it should have been only $250 which they were willing to pay. The person at the front desk said that they were a no show even though they had gas receits from a gas station in the neighborhood. I am very dissapointed because employees at Hotel Del Coronado were not upfront about a deposit and secondly the person lied about not putting in the system that they had showed up. What a way to treat a man in uniform!! The customer should always be right, and respect should be given to someone in millitary. Very upset!!!!
Pros: beautiful
Cons: lying unorganized disrespectful employees

It is the most romantic, beautiful hotel in Calif. Can't find one bad thing to say about The Del. Make sure to stay in the original wing and get the ocean view. It is worth every penny.

This was a very beautiful and historical hotel. It is on a very nice island with many pretty boutiques and restaurants and cafes. Overall it is probably one of the best hotels that I have been to. The staff was really nice and helpful. They helped us bring our luggage in and gave us suggestions such as where we should go to dinner and what we can do on the island.

I stayed in the California Cabana just yards away from my wedding site on the beach. It was magnificent! There aren't enough adjectives in the English language to describe the utter joy and overwhelming happiness "Hotel Del" added to my extraordinary day. There are so many wonderful features and services to compliment: the exceptional service at 1500 Ocean, the relaxing room with an incredible view, the make-up artist at the salon; and, not to mention the amazing wedding cake the pastry chef made for us! I'm overjoyed, and anxious to return for my first anniversary! Our thanks to all for an incredible stay. The Scotts
Pros: Extremely romantic for couples and family friendly
Cons: None

This is beautiful hotel and location that will do its most to empty your pockets. Be forewarned that the pool and parking are not included in your rate. The staff will blithely add on the pool fee when you check in, to the tune of 140 bucks a week.
This is a see and be seen place, great for people without limits on their budgets who enjoy mediocre dining at high prices. There is no taking away from the charm of the hotel itself, its just a poor value. The new addition we were booked into was no better than any modern hotel room for half the rate. The reviews on the old rooms make them sound more quaint than comfortable.
There is little to do in Coronado, so this may be an ok place for a weekend getaway at best. Properties nearby are of much higher value.

If I could rate this hotel higher than I five I would. The rooms are beautiful and always clean. The views from the hotel are incredible and most of them overlook the ocean. There is a lot of history behind this resort. We have stayed there a few times and it has been nothing but an enjoyable experience. The hotel also offers great shopping at the hotel as well as within walking distance.

This is by far one of the nicest hotels I've been to in San Diego. The rooms are great, and the cocktails they have are great. They have a huge martini menu (my favorite...the mimosa martini) as well as great food. Its fun to walk around exploring, as well as a romantic place to take your date for a walk on the beach or to sit and talk while listening to the waves crashing. Parking is somewhat of a pain, but its worth it when you walk around and are able to see the crown room all lite up.
