I've dined at Mayur many times and have yet to be disappointed. The service is always prompt and friendly. The waiters really know the menu well and can offer excellent assistance to those not completely familiar with Indian cuisine.
The food itself is among the best Indian food I've ever had. The variety of menu options and the quality of the food place Mayur in the top tier of Indian restaurants.

We use to eat at Mayur many years ago and then left the area. We moved back and tried Mayur again and had the same delicious meal we had several years earlier-the only difference was that the restaurant had been remoldeled. It has become our local favorite for the past two years and the food is consistently fabulous. We lived in NYC for many years and we have never found an Indian Restaurant as good as this. We have also traveled serveral times to India and we have found the flavors very authentic and delicious at Mayur. The servers are friendly and the restaurant is cozy and very clean. Try the Chicken Tikka Masala, Shrimp tandoori and eggplant vegetable sidedish- the best in the world!

The service was as good as I would expect for the cost, but the food was very flavorful. My husband said it is the best Indian food he has ever had and he's eaten Indian food from all over the world. I wish the tables would have been set further apart as there wasn't a lot of privacy. The tables are sort of packed in. The food was worth the wait. It was a bit pricey, but very high quality.
Pros: Great food
Cons: Slow service

I consider Mayur's to be the very best in Indian Cuisine. The chicken and lamb are perfectly cooked and served. The price is a little steep, but worth it if not once in a while!

Mayur is tucked away in a quiet, pretty stretch of PCH. It has to be the best Indian food I've ever had (and I've tried many over the years). Fabulous Karai dishes, their Chicken and Lamb are prepared top notch. I have a sensitive palate, and many run-of-the-mill Indian restaurants can come across too heavy or greasy for me. But not so here! Very fine, subtle flavors, rich spices, but never too heavy or greasy! The only downside is the price. It can run ~$20-30 per person (no drinks), but it's nice for a date, or once-in-a-while . Great food!
Pros: Excellent Dishes
Cons: Price

We go to Indian restaurants all over the world, including London, and Mayur is one of the
two best we have ever experienced. We are regular patrons of Mayur.
