Today, my co-workers and I decided to head over to Slugger's Neighborhood Grill for our lunch break. This restaurant is located on Highway 6 in Coralville (otherwise known as the "Coralville Strip.") This pleasant restaurant has a "sports bar" type of atmosphere. Slugger's serves your typical "American" fare with salads, pastas, sandwiches, and soups. There were seven of us and the waitstaff very kindly gave us separate checks to assist us in paying the bill.
I ordered the Creamy Almond Chicken Fetticine. It was very good and had a huge portion size. I packed up about two-thirds of it to take home for another meal or two. In addition, it came with a cup of soup or salad. I chose the Wisconsin Cheese soup. Yummy! The Creamy Almond Chicken Fetticine and soup was $9.99 and I also had a soda for $1.95. What a nice meal for a reasonable price.
The service today was a little on the slow side, and we were a little rushed to get back to the office. But the restaurant was busy, and so I could understand the delays. For a tasty lunch, try Slugger's on the "Coralville Strip!" I don't think that you'll be disappointed!

When I go to Slugger's on the Coralville Strip (Highway 6) I expect good food, good service, and good atmosphere. And I usually get them. I usually go there for lunch and it is best to arrive by 11:30 or after 1 PM to avoid the work crowd. There is suffificient parking at this restaurant and also an outdoor eating area.
They make great soups and the salads are always fresh. You can get a soup and salad special for 5.99 and included is a hot breadstick. Sandwiches like hamburgers or grilled chicken are very tasty.
Each day they feature specials in both the food and drinks categories.
The service is always friendly and prompt.

This review is about an interesting DELICIOUS way to work both sports and tasty food into your day! Sluggers is the answer to a prayer, both for the sports afficianado AND for the down-home gourmet in your group!
Located on 2nd Street, Sluggers is easy to find and has ample parking as well. Located on the North side of the "Coralville strip", it is best entered and exited when going west but there are turning lanes available so if you are careful, you should be fine.
The array of eats in this place is fantastic. From luscious Reuben sandwiches and other deli eats, SLUGGERS is batting 1000 when it comes to variety. One of my fav's here is the "cheesy fries" a concoction of french fries with a luscious topping of melted cheeses, jalipenos and bacon crumbles. Though I usually have them eliminate the peppers I have been told they are wonderful...top notch in the pepper field! I think I'll take hubby's word for it....I'm not a pepper person! ;-)
Of course there are many more delicitable delights available here along with many varieties and sizes of beer, ale and of course mixed drinks as well. Try one of their burgers...they are super!
On screens liberally scattered across this restaurant, you can watch whatever sport is available at the time. It's obviously a popular place on IOWA HAWKEYE game day! And if that isn't enough for you, SLUGGERS has an outdoor eating area that is lots of fun on hot Iowa evenings!
Prices are reasonable when you think about the amount of food you get with your order....I swear, they planned these portions with HAWKEYE football players in mind!
I suggest you call ahead to see if they are super busy as it can get quite crowded at times. And I do suggest you add this place to your "must visit" list...it's a sports treat that can't be beat! ENJOY...and GO HAWKS!!!
