To be perfectly honest with you, my family has had in the past a hard time keeping swimming creatures alive....now they don't meet their demise as we are bringing them home...no, they wait a few days, usually right after my youngest has named them, to visit that great aquarium in the sky. So naturally, when I was told about the wonderful service and array of creatures at SEA OF MARVELS I was a bit skeptical.
Walking in the door, I was immediately struck with the clean, friendly atmosphere. Shortly after entering I was approached by a very helpful man. After explaining my hesitancy he immediately deduced my problem. with the knowledge of oceanologists everywhere, he suggested fish, treatments and even proper diet. Shortly afterward, I was on my way home with some new pets. And surprisingly enough....they have survived....I am happy to report that Alvin and Theodore are happily ensconced in their home away from home....and my family? ....thrilled because I went to the SEA OF MARVELS!

Lots of gifts and nick nacks for dog owners. Many different breeds represented. Lots of supplies for your pet - such as leashes, collars, bowls, treats, etc. They offer training as well. The store is VERY big and spacious. Very well organized and the employees are all dog-oriented and love to chat about dogs! Located in a new building with parking right outside the store.

Okay, in Iowa it gets hot. Yep, I know it gets hot elsewhere, too, but then you add the Iowan humidity and it gets sticky and hot. We've used HJ Ltd Heating and Air Conditioning for years to keep us "cool as a cucumber" in the summer and "warm and toasty" in the wintertime.
About a month ago, I thought my air conditioner was on the fritz... The fan was running, but the air coming out wasn't very cool. So I called HJ Limited and they sent someone out the very same day. I was so pleased with their service.
Turns out that my circuit breaker for the air conditioner unit outside had tripped (which could have happened during some recent storms.) The circuit breaker for the furnace unit was still okay, hence the reason the fan was running and churning out air.
Since the service problem was fixed in about 10 minutes, the repair person turned the visit into a "routine maintenance" call and didn't charge me extra for having them come out so soon. HJ Limited is tops on my list of highly recommended businesses!

Westport Touchless Autowash in Coralville Iowa is a great place to get your car washed. All you have to do is drive up pay and drive through the automatic car wash. First the employees spray down your car then your go right in and drive through the car wash. Every time I have taken my car there I have always had a great experience and I would recommend Westport to anyone who wants a great place to wash their car.

Sometimes I go to Ace's Hardware on the Coralville strip if I just want to pop in and get something without wading through the long lines at a larger Hardware Superstore. Ace's Hardware is for those times that I need to find a screw or a bolt that matches one that I already have and I'll get lost in those "larger" stores. Where do you find someone to help you find one bolt? Ah ha, Ace is the place. (Isn't that part of their advertising?) I've always found their employees willing to help me find the match to my bolt, even though the sale may only end up being 13 cents. Yes, when you look at the prices of the major hardware superstore, Ace's is more expensive, but the time that it saves me is well worth the cost. Thank you helpful Ace employees!

Have you ever needed a little something to bring life into a room? I'm not talking about the kids. LOL The Hobby Lobby store is the place to look. Not only does it have a huge array of home decorator items, but there are craft items galore, quilting and sewing supplies, a huge section of silk flowers, greeting card and wrapping paper areas, framing, well you get the idea. Prices are reasonable and the sales can't be beat.
Sometimes when I am needing something to perk me up I just go to Hobby Lobby to browse. Something about doing that makes me feel better whether I buy anything or not. You always come away with lots of ides on things you could do.

My wife and I bought a Legacy Leather furniture set (Trenton Collection) from Brian at Ralston Creek. We purchased our furniture at a really bad time in the economy so Legacy had a few set backs getting our leather in. Brain with Ralston Creek was there with us through it all and did everything they could to keep us happy. 19 months later our furniture is as good as new(really) and we would highly recommend Ralston Creek as well as Legacy Leather. It took us 3 years of searching for the right leather and after shopping around we are really glad we bought from Ralston Creek. - Matt

We needed a new mattress and shopped around town at the big box stores. This place is run by a family (literally, Mom took our order, Pop filled out the paperwork.)
They delivered our mattress for free and took away the old one.
Great service and prices. Highly recommended.
VOTE WITH YOUR DOLLARS. Spend your money at a place owned by people who live in the same city as you! They deserve your support!

I went to Bachmeier Interiors and I found that they have excellent service and outstanding customer service! I am pleased to say that I am extremely pleased with the carpet and tile that I had installed. I will be going back this spring to get window treatments done and I can hardly wait.
