My kids have been dragged to every museum in the state, and this is still one of their favorites. They have a steady stream of changing exhibits, like a Georgia Okeefe collection, and Renoir's Women, but they also have an excellent permanant collection on display. We often go from room to room just visiting our favorites. The docent tour at 2pm is nice, but the joy for us is in wandering around reading the plaques and finding new pieces. Eye Spy is the children's exhibit, which includes LOTS of hands-on exhibits: dress-up costumes, rubbings, draw your hero, perspective activities. Free on Sundays doesn't include parking or featured exhibits, but admission on every other day is very reasonable. Don't forget to check out the cafe...they do really nice soups and salads, and the kids will dig the cookies. A great educational afternoon, rain or shine!

The Columbus Museum of Art seems to be on of Columbus. Ohio's well kept secrets. Although everyone knows it is there, it is often not visited. After a recent return to paradise, I realized this is the place to be. The Museum is a beautiful, historic building filled with many fantastic rooms of awe-inspring art. They feature works by local artists and the world-renowned. They even are featuring a show by Mattisse featuring several of his works of his female subjects. This is a show not to be missed.

My father-in-law wanted to go here for his birthday to check out the Renoir's Women exhibit. We were all looking forward to it, because it was advertised in both the Dispatch and The Other Paper that visits were no cost on Sundays. Unfortunately, that wasn't really the case --it only qualifies if you just want to look at any of the side exhibits, like the Knight's Armor, which was cool. For the Main attractions, they definitely charge full price, which I believe was $10.00 per person. While this isn't break-the-bank expensive, it's disappointing when you're under the impression it's free.

The museum is really neat to go visit there are a lot of exhibits and I think they even have a kids area. They also do a "party" on the first Thursday of the month. A lot of single people come to it and they have music and drinking. It is a great way to meet people.

Excellent Art Museum that has exhibits from nearly every period in art history and every part of the globe ancient and present day. This is perhaps the best art museum in Ohio. The Museum has many exhibits throughout the year that keep the selection of art ever changing. Some of the most breath taking exhbits have visited columbus like the Titanic Exhibit presently.

I have been very impressed with this museum. I have visited several times to see different exhibits and I always end up looking at everything. We go on Sundays because it is free and you just pay for parking. It is a well organized and very interesting museum. It makes a wonderfully quiet spot for a date if we can get a babysitter and we can get lunch at the Palette Cafe. The location makes it easily accessible to most areas of Columbus.
