Drexel theatre is a great theatre that plays independent movies. I recently saw March of the Penguins and I had a great time. The theatre is so cozy and friendly, something not found tooo much at mainstream theaters. At a great Price and great Movie choice. I highly recommend them to anyone.

Cheap cheap and did I mention cheap? Expect to see the movies you missed when they first came out, re-run for an exceptional price. The concessions are even a little less expensive. Movies cost 1.50 and are even cheaper for matinee. Expect to wait in the lobby until the picture of your movie lights up, which means that they are seating your flick. It is rather "herd of cattle" but would you expect any less for your money?

More
This is one of the most comfortable theaters in Columbus. The seats are stadium style, well-padded, and the armrests tilt up and out of the way if you like to snuggle with your sweetie during scary parts! The prices are pretty average, but they do offer student, senior, and matinee discounts. The staff is friendly, but a little erratic about cleaning the theaters. Parking is a problem some Fri & Sat nights. The management also allows you to bring your coffee from around the corner, no hassles. Children and infants are welcome, but they expect you to be respectful of fellow viewers and keep them quiet (the babies, not your fellow viewers!!) All in all, a good experience.

If you have any interest in supporting local businesses go to Studio 35 to see a movie.
They have great deals on tickets, a few old school video games in the lobby, cool movie posters / art, a wide selection of really good beers on tap/bottle, food delivered from the pizza joint next door, great workers, new comfy seats, and an incredible environmentally friendly air conditioning system (see their website for the details). They get good first-run movies as well as very cool old ones and will show locally produced movies on occasion.
And if you don't have any interest in supporting local businesses you should still go for all of the reasons listed above - you can't beat seeing a movie here!

Going to the Lennox was always a good experience when I was a student at Ohio State. It's great because it's within walking distance from campus, offers student admission prices, and has a lot of theaters and shows all of the new movies. As with most movie theaters, it can sometimes be messy, or the lines may be long, but it has stadium seating and comfortable seats!

We typically go to the Marcus when we go to see movies. It's not as big as some of the other theaters, but then it's not as crowded either, so it's easier to get a good seat!
The theaters are usually pretty clean and like another reviewer said, it's in a good area with lots of restaurants and places to go before and after the show.
Their prices aren't too bad and their staff is always really nice.

Studio 35 has some history, but I don't know it.The main claim to fame is that you can watch a movie AND drink beer AT THE SAME TIME. Ostensibly, that's all there is to it, but really the draw is the films. While they usually show current popular movies (they have to eat, too) now and again there will be an offering that's great to see on the big screen. Not that their screen's that big, but you know what I mean. For example, my favorite was when they showed "Gimmie Shelter" one summer. They did "Dazed and Confused" recently, but I came late and drunk and hung out in the ladies' for half an hour chatting with a friend and admiring (bemusedly) the new decor. They used to have a really great messy poster-collaged bathroom, but now it's very white and I think meant to be a deco nose-powdering area, which doesn't quite come off, though I appreciate the effort. Anyway I didn't watch the movie. It's cheap, there's food and (did I mention) BEER, they show unusual films now and again. It's nice to have around.

Of the three locations, I think this one is the best; the Arena one is too big, the one on Main is too far away somehow, but the Grandview is just right. An independent theater/arthouse showing indie films and also Serious Films and sponsoring the occasional festival and odd cheap matinee. They force their employees to do ticket draws for prizes before certain shows, which is kind of embarassing, plus I've never won anything, and the seats can be squeaky, hard, and hair-trigger, but for the most part going to a movie here is like settling into a familiar hug; bony in parts but beloved and always genuine; even if the movie is stupid it's fun to go.
