I was originally hired as a delivery driver in Fall of 1987 when I transfered to Ohio State from University of Cincinnati. There was an Adriaticos at UC also, and I think that is where the 1st restaurant was started, Jefferson Ave. The manager of Adriaticos in Columbs was a delivery driver at the Adriaticos in Cincinnati, Bill Davidson. I knew hm at UC and we partied together. When I transfered to Ohio State, I went in to get a job, and who should I see when I went in to apply but Bill Davidson! He immediately gave me a job as a driver. Bill eventually left and a few more managers came and went. One day the owner, Greg Fortney came in for what I think was a suprise visit to inspect the restaurant in Columbus. He fired the manager and asked me if I would like to become the new manager. I said, sure!
It was at the end of the school year around June 1988. There was not a lot of business at the time because the students were all gone. There were only about 2 other employes, so I hired my best friend at the time, Mark Jobe, to be my assistant manager. I eventually hired the whole staff and most of these great people continued to work there for years.
The pizza was always very good and we started branching out into other things like breadsticks and I think we even had spaghetti for a while. It was not a very fancy restaurant, but I knew it was the best pizza I had ever tasted and I knew it would eventually bve discovered for it's great tasting thick crust pizza. I've never found better anywhere.
Pros: STILL THE BEST PIZZA I'VE EVER HAD, AND I MADE IT!

Are they seriously calling them New York style pizzas? Those thick, bready, extremely heavy, un-foldable and tasteless crusts? I would have less of a gut-wrenching reaction if they tried to pass those thick bricks as chicago-style deep dish pizzas. Their food, in my opinion, is overpriced, blend and boring, not to mention taking too dang long to make. Explain to me why it takes 45 minutes to make a half a sandwich. The only reason the place does as well as it does is thanks to its convenient location on campus.
Pros: Convenient campus location for OSU students
Cons: Long wait, crowded, blend boring food, thick brick of crust

I love this pizza. Great crust and a nice, slightly spicy sauce. They offer great monday and tuesday specials. It's good enough to skip every other pizza parlor in town.

If someone asks me what the best pizza in Columbus is, I quickly tell them Adriatico's (with Tommy's being a close second). Sure, it's a little pricey, but it's quite filling (especially the thick style crust). We usually order a large or a Buckeye size pepperoni and sausage pizza every week or two at work, and the end results are consistently good. My only complaint is that the sausage pieces roll right off the pepperoni a bit too easily. Hilarity ensued when a coworker tried eating a slice and the sausage rolled right into his coffee!
Pros: thick crust, huge pepperoni
Cons: sausage has a mind of its own, kind of pricey without coupons

We love this place. It's just a little campus dive, but it churns out great pizza. I work on campus and we order it often at work- they have huge 3 foot pizzas for big gatherings. The antipasto is great and the dipping sauces for the crust are good. The service was surprisingly attentive! Campus parking is often difficult.
Pros: pizza, antipasto, service
Cons: parking

I came here on a Sunday afternoon a couple weeks into my freshman year at OSU. I was amazed at how big the pizzas are and the AWESOME taste and smells. Probably the best pizza I've ever had and have become a regular customer since. Have to order the breadsticks and the garlic butter for dipping. Definitely not figure friendly, but worth it when you are hungry! I had to come back during Winter break just to satisfy my craving! This is one place I have gladly gained my freshman 15 from!
Pros: Food, Service
Cons: Parking

It's not cheap but for the quantity and especially the quality... worth every penny. Get the Buckeye if you have six people or more.
