I've been a regular at El Vaquero (namely Riverside Drive location) for over 10 years. You will not find a more casual, fun, well priced place with better food or service in Columbus. That's why is packed 7 dats a week, every week. Sit at the bar and David will get your pitcher of Margarita out quick

Besides the fact that this place is supposedly haunted and ghosts are one of my biggest fears, I absolutely love it and have become quit the regular! They make the best drinks, the food is consistently delicious and the service staff is very friendly . The food is reasonably priced for a downtown restaurant, and the beer is excellent especially the dark horse. I have never been a fan of dark beer, but this is one to try even if you never have been a dark beer drinker in the past. As far as the food goes I especially love the crab cakes but the rock filet is really fun for a special occasion. The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous and is definitly the spot for an amazing date night, a night out on the town with friends, or for relaxation after a long day at work. My husband and I recently celebrated my birthday at M and it exceeded both of our expectations! The drinks at the bar were unique and delicious, our server was knowledgable and made great reccomendations on food and wine, and our dinners were some of the best we've ever had! Overall, it was a birthday to remember because of the staff at M and we will definitely return again and again!

Only visited here once a little while back and was very happy that I did. The chicken salad was huge and very delicious. The few steak fries that I was able to snatch off my girlfriend's plate were awesome as well! It's not a huge place so I could see it being a little uncomfortably crowded on a friday or saturday night, but that shouldn't be reason enough to stop you from going!

I just celebrated a birthday witha group of friends and had one of the best dining experiences of my life at Barley's. Although they don not take reservations they were able to seat our party of 10 in less than 1/2 hour on a busy Friday night. Our server was very freindly and when we were unsure about some of the beer choices shes let us try some to decide. They had a special "Firkin" beer on for Friday that she explained very well. Basically it is like beer was served way back in the day, like vikings would drink it! Awesome! The food was great. They had just started a new menu and everything we had was great and well worth the money. We basically had the compete opposite experience of "SKBeerFan" I wonder if he just caught them on a bad night or if he is just one of those unsufferably jerks that leaves bad reviews of good places because he is full of angst from living in his mom's basement :-)
Pros: Best Beer Around, Excellent Food
Cons: Parking can be a pain (but worth the trouble)

What more can I say? This authentic mexican restaurant is simply amazing - in terms of its food, ambience, the host, servers, everything. And it is fairly inexpensive as well. Their menu is very extensive as I was nearly confused the first time I dined there with my girlfriend. El Vaquero is a great restaurant for family, friends or just for two or three people. I absolutely recommend this place for anyone who loves fun, food, and great people.

We have one reviewer claiming the BR is full of tattoed hipsters and the other claiming it's too yuppie? I think what this indicates is that the Burgundy Room entertains a diverse clientelle, which it most certainly does. But I really don't see this as a bad thing. I tend to avoid it, and the whole neighborhood for that matter, on busy Friday and Saturday nights.
But the rest of the time it's a great place to chill, eat and drink. The wine list is the best in town and the food is great. Everything is made from scratch and it's a good value.

Cons: Fridays and Saturdays are crowded
