This place is the type of breakfast I've always looked for and now, have found it. I order the chickichanga every time I go to this place and I've never been disappointed. Its Whipped eggs with spicy chicken, homemade chorizo, green chiles, onion, avocado rolled in a crispy flour tortilla and topped with Vera Cruz sauce and sour cream. The service is always very friendly and very fast. Dining time never goes over 30min during the week or an hour on sunday(their busiest day). First watch is a breakfast place with a southwest/mexican twist to breakfast--there are many dishes with salsa, avacado, sour cream, etc.

I was a little skeptical to try Nancy's, not because I thought the food wasn't good, but because it's always so busy. A bit of advice: try it in the summer when OSU is on break. Trust me, the food will be just as good and you won't have to wait or be hurried out. Monday and Thursday the special is chicken and noodles and the portions are more than you can eat.
Pros: Great service, Great food, Cheap
Cons: You might have to wait for a seat

I have been in Tommy's many times.
To address some other reviews, the food quality has not fallen of, the noise is part of the attraction and if you feel that the diner has lost something, I'm sorry!
Perhaps your appreciation of Tommy's is not what it should be!!
Pros: Food, Flavors, Ambience
Cons: Can't Think Of Any

I have been coming to La Chatelaine for years and I've had nothing but fantastic experiences! The owners genuinely care about their customers, employees and products. I have hosted large parties there before and the service has been wonderful each time. True, they are occasionally out of some items, but that's understandable when you have such a fresh and desirable product!
Pros: Atmosphere, Service, Patio, Bar
Cons: Occasional waits during lunch

Jack and Benny's in Clintonville - one of those if you blink you might miss it kind of places. Sitting at the corner of Hudson and High, it is perfect for those coming from the North or those campus kids looking for a reasonably priced bite to eat.
My daughter and I found it surely by accident quite a few years ago. We were going on one of our patented school days off adventure- hopping on the Cota up in Worthington and working our way towards downtown. We were both starved and looking out the window for a potential place to eat - and there it was - the sign "BREAKFAST SERVED ALL DAY" - so we jumped off the bus and into the restaurant.
The food is diner food - and if you know anything about diner food - you know it usually is the best breakfast food around! The eggs are always cooked to perfection - and the hashbrowns are nice and crispy - just like I like them. And the ambiance - wait staff rushing here to there with plates of food, and cups of coffee. The grill is right behind the counter so you can watch your food as it cooks and listen for the ultimate sound "order up" But that's not it - the walls are filled with pictures to take you down 'memory lane' and the bobble heads - they have so many osu and brutus buckeye bobble heads but the ones I like the best... the island of misfit toys.
After a good, filling breakfast - the bill comes - and it's usually somewhere around the price of pocket change! You can't beat the bargain!!
The biggest draw backs are parking and the restuarant is small. So if you come on a weekend - be prepared to wait outside. But as to the parking - the bus lets off right in front - no mess no fuss! You owe it to yourself to try this quaint little place- you will be glad you did!
Pros: Awesome food, Great Character, Wonderful Employees
Cons: Parking (but ride the bus) - and it's small so you have to wait outside if there's a wait

This is the best! It's like eating in my own kitchen. The food is great and the staff is wonderful. I have breakfast there every Sunday. There can be a line to get in but it's worth the wait.
Pros: Good food and good prices.
Cons: Parking can be tight.

The Wildflower is exactly what Clintonville needs - a family owned gem, somewhat off the beaten path, with great made from scratch breakfast and daily specials. Tuesday's meatloaf is a must, and the soup du jour is always fantastic. Good salads, great burgers and sandwiches. The desserts are outstanding and always fresh - get the butterscotch pie!
The staff is very friendly, and many of the people have been working there for years. Great place for a lunch break, family dinners, sunday brunch (but get there early, sundays are packed!) Parking is limited, but there are plenty spots on side streets and at the nearby pool, availble durring the fall/winter.
Pros: Friendly staff, awesome desserts
Cons: parking, sometimes crowded

My fiancée and I walked in to French Loaf while we were walking along 5th Ave. We were waiting for my car to get finished being repaired at the nearby Tuffy and saw the store and thought we would go in - we had never been in despite that we must have unknowingly driven by it 15 or 20 times (it is set back from 5th a little). I got a Raisin Cinnamon Roll and a medium coffee (ended up trying both the hazelnut and french roast flavors). My fiancée got an apple danish! My cinnamon roll was amazing and I will definitely be going back for more of them. Thanks.
Pros: Friendly, good atmosphere, great food!
