I have received service on three occasions from this facility. The service has a lifetime warranty and is timely. All services have been of the highest quality. The decor is typical of an auto service establishment but there is coffee and refreshments in teh waiting area, a T.V. and reaing material. The staf greet cusotmers promptly and keep you updated in terms of the status of your repair. Highly recommended.

This AAMCO location is how ALL shops should be. I started having tranny problems on my Lexus RX300 after 214,000 miles. It had problems shifting into 4th gear, then my 1st gear went out leaving the car stuck using 2nd and 3rd. Let me start by saying that I first went to Metro transmissions, after seeing all the good reviews on this site. Although there were a ton of cars on the lot to be worked on, (not hurting for business) they wanted $4338 for a remanufactured trans. Wow! I know Lexus parts are expensive but that is extremely high. So then I started a search to buy my own reman trans and found some for around $2750. I then only needed a shop to install it. My trusted mechanic, Bernie's garage in Clintonville which is a GREAT Mom and Pop garage, recommended Aamco down the street. Now I'm normally not the kind of guy to trust these chain places like Midas, Tuffy, Jiffy Lube, you know, the places where the turnover is extremely high and have lazy 20-something kids working there that used to work at Taco Bell last week. But because Bernie's recommended and a needed to shop around, I called them. What a find they turned out to be! They could install a remanufactured tranny for $2890, total. I couldn't believe it. So I dropped off my car that day. This place has actually been around since 1963, had a ton of "happy customer" letters inside adorning the walls, and had the feel of a family owned business. V.J., then owner, was very knowledgeable and friendly and instilled a sense of security in me having worked on so many cars in the past. They had the work completed in 3 days, priced as promised, and even came with a 3 yr/36,000 mile warantee. I couldn't be happier with this shop, the no-nonsense mechanics that I chatted with there, or the inexpensive price. The car drives perfectly and I saved myself over $1000 with my first choice. I will recommend this N. High st Aamco to any of my friends that need tranny work.
Pros: experienced, inexpensive, family owned place
Cons: none that I found

the shop keeper is an expert at his craft who takes pride in what he does, producing a factory like tint job at the cheapest price in town. He is very knowledgeable and professional, with many years of experience. He applies a guaranteed tint job at a great price with wonderful customer service. Went over my car several times making sure there were no bubbles and the job was the best it could possibly be.
Pros: great service, price, personal service, and very skilled
Cons: hard to find

This is a great place to get auto parts and recommendation for reliable mechanic. I once brought my vehicle and they were able to tell me what the 'check engine' light meant from their scanner. Although they cannot repair, they have contacts to local mechanics and can recommend great places for repair. They also change wiper & batteries with purchase.

I went to Advance to by brake parts for my vehicle. The sales team was very helpful in suggesting quality parts for my specific make and model. The manager, Brian, was extremely knowledgeable, and even talked me through the do-it-yourself procedures for a full pad and rotor change. The staff also referred me to their website which also provided helpful information. The installation went off without a hitch, and the parts have held up for awhile. I would return here in a heartbeat to purchase additional parts for my cars.

I work in a small family run garage not far from this location. On numerous occasions I have been in this store and received the worst treatment. The staff is not knowledgeable and often makes mistakes with parts that you order. The final straw came when I purchased parts at another advance and tried to exchange them at this store. I presented the parts in the unopened original box accompanied by the original receipt from the other store. I was told that they would not return them because it was purchased from a store in another district. This is apparently the only advance with this "policy" because I have never had another problem with returns at any other Advance store. If I could give ZERO STARS I would! BEWARE OF THIS STORE!
Pros: None! Go to another auto parts store
Cons: Poor customer service, Shady business practices
