Shake's was a staple in my diet while going to MU. Since then, I have been in three other countries and numerous states and NO ONE makes pizza like Shake's. It is the best pizza in the world! The crust is great...crispy on the bottom, but more to it than just a cracker. The toppings are rich and there is really no need to order extra cheese unless you want a super amount of cheese. I crave Shake's at least once a week, but live in Minnesota. Can pizza be shipped through the mail? (By the way...Shake's is even better than Grand Marias, MN's Sven and Ole's!)
Pros: parking is not bad for the original location, the ambience is perfect for a college town
Cons: not located in Minnesota

Shakespeare's Pizza is one of Columbia's well known restaurants, and has a great deal of tradition and history associated with it. It is located within easy walking distance of the University of Missouri campus. While I enjoy the pizza, I would not consider it to be much more than average. The crust is slightly thicker than most, and it is hand tossed. The price is reasonable to slightly expensive, which often limits the patronage to Alumni and families, rather than college students. However, at lunch time you can buy pizza by the slice at a reasonable cost. The wait is 30-45 minutes at peak times, so be prepared to wait. Overall it is a unique and important once a semester or trip experience. Recommended.
Pros: Tradition, Experience
Cons: , Price, Wait
