I was very impressed with this ER, the doctor and nurses. We had the unfortuate Christmas Day experience of spending about 5 hours in the ER. My husband had a little episode of some numbness on his left side: face, lips and left arm. We convinced him to at least call his doctor and the doctor on call told him to go to the ER and have it checked out. When we arrived there, we went to the valet parking .. FREE. Then we went inside to register, the registering person was very polite and friendly, then we had to go through Security, he was also friendly. We only waited about 5 minutes and he was taken to another station where they entered all of his information into the computer etc. His medications and medical history. Then the ER doctor saw him and after talking with him, decided to go ahead and have a lot of tests done, blood work, a couple of x-rays, chest and head. All of the technicians were extremely professional. Then he was told he could go home but had to make an appointment to have two more things done but since it was Christmas Day they couldn't do them .. a cardiac echo complete and a carotid ultrasound. I called the next day and they scheduled him the following day. He had two different technicians that day and they were both friendly and very helpful. When we left the hospital and to get our car, we just handed them our ticket and they brought the car to us .. AND THEY SAID NO TIPPING. Very friendly guys doing that too. I hope I never need have to use an ER or even the hospital, but now I know this one is a good one. [Oh, we still don't know what happened .. it could have been a few pinched nerves, perhaps from shoveling snow, it could be Bells Palsy but no drooping or any numbness now or then, or a TIA, pre-cursor to a major stroke. He's been fine since that day .. has an appointment to see his doctor on Jan. 4th.]

We have a fairly new Super Target in our area and I just love going there. Today I had in my mind to purchase 2 items. My daughter needs a pair of snow boots and they MUST BE WHITE because she can only wear white shoes to class with their scrubs. Also, we had our first big blizzard of 2006 and that is one item we did not have while living in FL .. a snow shovel. We had been to other stores in the area earlier in the day so I figured why not check Target. This store is usually very well stocked, the employees are all very helpful and friendly .. which they were today. I couldn't find the snow shovels anywhere and I asked an employee and he said to follow him. Lo and behold, they were SOLD OUT. And, the only pair of WHITE snow boots were a size 11, she needs a size 8. We did browse through the Halloween costumes and decorations and just a bit further down they were stocking Christmas decorations. All the stores are though. I wasn't surprised at all. I did break down and buy my Halloween Candy at Target. I didn't buy what I had planned to get .. SNICKERS .. we ended up with a mixed bag of a lot of little different pieces of eveything. My daughter said she won't be so tempted if I got those but she would "hate me forever" if I bought Snickers because it's one of her favorites too. Actually, I really do like about 3 grocery stores but Safeway is my favorite. I prefer their meats as they seem to have a better taste to them. I also like the friendly staff at the ones that I have gone to here in Colorado. Another thing that I like is that they do have a membership card that you get 3 to 10 cents off on gasoline after purchasing a certain amount of groceries and it has really been a godsend when the cost of gasoline has been so expensive. Their produce always is so nice and fresh. They have a great deli too. And, for an added convenience, they do have a pharmacy as well.

My husband and I were out this morning and while we were out, we noticed that gasoline was going back UP. As we were in the vicinity of a Safeway that has had a 10 cents a gallon off for several weeks now, I figured we'd check them out. On our way there, the least expensive we saw was 2.09 and 2.11. When we got to Safeway, it was 2.12 .. and I did get the 10 cents off, making it $2.02. Another friend told us that she bought her Honey Suckle turkey the night before at Safeway .. she got a 22 lb. turkey for $7.99. So, we went there and I got a 19.53 lb. one for $7.99. On the tag is said $1.18 a lb .. $22.+ .. so I saved a bundle on that "bird." Not sure if all Safeway's are doing this, but my sister in Denver said they were $5.99 at her Safeway. And she also noticed a sign that after November 26th, Safeway will no longer be allowed to sell their gasoline for less than the 3 cents per gallon off by using their card. Bummers. So, if any of you in Colorado have a Safeway Card .. be sure to use up your gasoline points by the 26th.

My daughter goes to Dr Arango for her braces & they are fantastic!! If she pops a wire for some reason, no need to call, just walk in and they'll see her within the next few minutes! The are efficient, caring & just all around fantastic!! I would HIGHLY recommend this office to everyone & anyone who asked!!

The people at Academy Womens Health are the best. I never had to wait long for my scheduled appointments. I loved the way that they have you meet with all the staff doctors so that you are never delivered by a stranger. They have a great working relationship with Penrose Community and they also worked well with my insurance company (TriCare). The staff was just wonderful and some of them even remembered me by name which is no small feet considering how many people they see. My delivery was soooooo smooth. I couldn't have asked for a better team!

I would recommend Dr Maynard to anyone and everyone that is moving to Colorado Springs. He has been my daughter and son's pediatrician since the day they were born. He has very good bed side manners when in the hospital and is very up front when you are in his office. He has a great staff as well.

Dr. Jagger has provided braces for both of my daughters, and I cannot say enough to emphasize what a wonderful provider he has been - not to mention the outstanding staff.
Dr. Jagger has performed complicated oral surgery for one of my daughters, and provided personal and exceptional care for both.
The staff is wonderful about acknowledging the girls, especially after having not seen them for long lengths of time. The office is always sure to call the day before an appointment as a reminder, and emergencies are never a problem.
During a complicated switch in insurance policies, Dr. Jagger's office worked extensively with the insurance companies to iron out lapses in policies. The problems were handled entirely between them, and we never heard a word other than updates on where our policy stood. The staff is top-notch professional both in the business office as well as in the examination rooms.

We recently had to find a new doctor for my boys (my hubby and two sons) And this place has the best pediatricians I have ever seen! They get you into the office for appointments quickly, and the wait time is minimal. I'm talking 3-5 minutes, max! The doctors seem really knowledgeable, and truly take time to answer questions you may have. The rooms are spacious and kid-friendly, and they have stickers for the kids (my son loves them). The only con is that they don't have a play area for the kids while you are waiting..but, as I said, you aren't going to be waiting long.

I was recommended to Dr. Dodsworth and was not disappointed. You walk into a wonderful new calming office to a friendly receptionist. I had my teeth and gums examined throughly and cleaned. The hygienist was very friendly and did not do the normal yelling at me for not flossing enough, just urged me to do it more. The cleaning was painless and quick. Dr. Dodsworth then came in and did his examine which was very thoroughly. He is very friendly and genuine. He also offers sleep dentistry if you are the type to get nervous. Overall I had a wonderful experience and would recommend him
