While I can't say this is the best theater in the Springs (since I haven't been to the IMAX on the east side), it is definitely up there! There are lots of screens, sop hit movies show very regularly and it's easy to catch them. Also the parking lot is huge and well laid out, with ample parking. Even on busy days we've been able to park fairly close to the entrance! There are also plenty of ticket windows outside - so while it may look mobbed on a weekend, you actually get through the line rather quickly.
The inside is well maintained - very clean. The seating in the theaters is stadium style, so it makes life a lot easier if you have someone tall in front of you... or if you *are* that tall someone!
We've never had any problems with the sound or film quality there - everything has always been excellent.
I can not speak about their concessions, only that the prices seem ridiculous - but no more ridiculous than every other movie theater you go to!

If you are visiting to the springs, this is definitely a place to visit. I thought it was beautiful at night, when they light up each one of the seven falls. The day I went, they had Native Americans doing dances at the bottom, very neat. If you are in shape, go for the stairs and give them a try. I would go back with family.

Santa's Worshop is located in the mountains southwest of Colorado Springs. It's an outdoor amusement park that has a Christmas theme throughout! You can even sit on Santa's lap in the middle of July! There are dozens of rides that kids of all ages can enjoy as well as adult entertainment as well. Bring your lunch for an outdoor picnic or buy your food there. They have a variety of novelty stores as well where you can Christmas shop eary! They have a Boys Store and a Girls Store and a great Candy Store! The only thing I don't particularly like is that they track all of your purchases, including food purchases, on a tracking card. Everything is written down and then you pay the grand total as you leave. Everyone who purchases a ticket, including children, receive this tracking card. What happens if you lose it? I'm sure it'll cost you an arm and a leg it you do! This is an all-day trip so plan accordingly. Weather-permitting, you'll have a great time!

We are a family of four. If we go any where else, we end up paying more then $45. for 4 tickets, 1 large drink, 1 small drink & 1 large popcorn. That we all have to share. That is ridiculously expensive. Not every one has that kind of money to spend on a night out. At this price we couldn't possibly afford to go out for a movie as often as I would like. Thanks to picture show at about $18 now I can. That's a big difference. And on a tuesday even better.
Pros: Good price on tickets & concessions.

Michael Garman is a local artist who does unique sculptures of 1940's-era working class folks. His lifelike subjects have the most amazing facial features and his work is truly one-of-a-kind. Of particular interest are his "diner scenes" which show all kinds of motley folks hanging out at the local food counter.
But, what you must check out while you are the gallery is the Magic Town int he back. for a small fee, you will enter a world unlike any that you have seen. It is a complete miniature 1940's cityscape with talking holograms and all kinds of surprises. Kids and adult will enjoy--I think it brings out the voyeur in all of us as we peek in windows to get a better look at what lies within.

King Pin -- Love that this is a no-smoking bowling alley! We went during the day here and it wasn't crowded at all -- we got set up and started to play right away. Prices were very reasonable and the food/snacks we got were yummy and priced inexpensively in comparison to what you sometimes have to pay to feed a family out on the town. This is a new place and seems very clean although you may have to put up with some construction dust (only on the way to the alley, not once you're bowling) while they finish their other areas.

Never having played Bingo before, I went with my son and his new wife to play bingo here one evening, and it turned into a weekly event with our entire family.
The building offers smoking and non-smoking areas, has a pretty good menu for snacks, and offers bingo supplies (blotters) for sale.
It provides a relaxing evening and the family is able to have a table to ourselves. There are different sponsors on different evenings, and they sometimes sell raffle tickets for cash and prizes - which can be easier to win than the actual bingo.
For only a few dollars each, we get hours of time together, and occasionally a few of us get really lucky.

More
I have been going to Independent Records since I was a teenager, and now my own teenagers shop there. The store offers a wide variety of music and videos, as well as used items.
Independent Records is also one of the best places in town to purchase concert tickets. They always have the most current concert schedules, and they participate and sponsor community events often.
You can also sell and trade your music and video items there. You will find a bulletin board for local band notices. They have opened a second store, an annex, directly across the street from the original store on Platte Avenue.

More
This is a recreated, indoor ghost town that you kids will love and you might even enjoy yourself. At the very least, it's a great rainy day option when the kids are climbing the walls. There are recreated shops including a general store, jail, blacksmith, post office and saloon. Many of the exhibits are hands-on and touching is encouraged.
Yes, it's commercialism at its best (or worst) but let;s face it--the kids love that kind of thing, that's what makes it so popular. And if they can gain some historical insights while you are popping a quarter here and there for this or that, then so much the better!
