I've been in orthodontic treatment for years. They had decided I needed surgery to correct my class 3 underbite. So I'd been in consultation with Dr. Billingsley for several years (he also took out my wisdom teeth 3 years ago, and there was NO swelling, and I was up and running the next day). He performed a sagittal split osteotomy and a maxillary advancement and widening. Yeah, any major surgery really leaves you pretty dead, but I was back at work in 6 days and most of the swelling was down within 2-3 weeks. Virtually zero pain, and the results look good. His "artistic" judgement is good, despite my intial doubts (any major change to your face leaves you rather shocked). And he's friendly and answers all your questions :)
